I am getting a tattoo on Friday!

just thought i'd do something i always wanted too.

mr c always said he's dump me if i had a tattoo, well we're not together anymore so i can and i am!

richie or those in the know - how much pain can i expect to look forward to?.

goddess, I was thinking of getting a Fleur de lis on my wrist (to remember my hometown New Orleans by). I don't think it would hurt too bad, personally considering where else i've gotten ink done. It would be a good spot for a new tattoo.

Richie, that sounds most fabulous...keep us updated with the progress...I'd love to see it when it's done. It should look really good with the pastels, maybe good enough to eat! :)

I found a shop that I would do it at...and I know the guy who would teach me. He's really good and very easy going and a good teacher as well. (I know everyone at the shop - i should...i've spent countless hours there.) It's working for nil...but if I can work the schedule out right with my job, it won't really matter...i have a lot of evening free time (which is the shop's busy time around here - heavy Military area) and the hubby works nights so it would beat sitting on the couch and I could learn another way to express my art. :)

Hopefully it'll work out...if not...c'est la vie, eh?

Richie, I saw your lower arm with the desserts...I have to say that the peeps rocks!

that's gotta be one of the most original tattoo ideas I've seen in a long time. :)

i'm actually terrible with communication...and I have a hard time with physical contact.

I blame growing up in a cult, personally...however, I say lots of I love yous....cause I do love him very much...and I try to snuggle and hold his hand...he likes that...

also, the running fingers through the hair gets him every time! ;)

if you've got an idea, bring it with...the tattooist can draw it out, but they love having your own input and imagery...it makes their job easier and makes sure that you get what you want if you have a clear idea of what you're looking for and have some samples.

(I'm looking to get an apprenticeship if my husband's job pans out here...i LOVE tattoos....the one on my back I drew myself...i wish i had a picture of it around here...i'd show ya.)

most of that goes to the shop though...the tattooists only see a percentage of that if any at all depending on the studio. Tips certainly make the job more bearable that's for sure. :)

it should take less than 20 minutes once the tattooist starts...it actually goes on pretty fast. :) (if you're talking a small one like what you said.)

Hey Crumpie!

I'm a BIG fan of tats! I've got 4...each one larger than the last!

It all depends on where you get and what tolerance for pain you've got.

the one on my upper thigh hurt the worst...and i have one covering my upper back (inbetween my shoulder blades), calf of my left leg and upper left arm. My arm and calf hardly hurt at all (very doable pain.) My back hurt pretty bad the first time...i'm now on my last coloring session on it (4 times total) and it's a hurt so good pain after about 15-20 minutes.

does it hurt? yes...but it's doable, and after awhile your endorphins kick in and it's a good kind of pain if that makes sense.
