What do non witnesses actually think about the evil practice of disfellowshipping?
by jambon1 inwhenever i have mentioned this practise to people who don't know much about the witnesses (although they should know about them due to the worldwide preaching activity .
to most right thinking people it is absolutely just not an option to have no contact with your immediate family.. one lady said to me "i'd rather rip my heart out".. what has been your experience when people find out that jw's carry out this evil practise?.

Well angel eyes, if you're happy assigning your loyalty to an organization that really does not care about you, you should definetely give them your life. After all, you only have ONE life, and it would most certainly be wasted on this corrupt, white-washed organization. Good thing logic isn't your friend.

Hey....I decided to go onto the internet few weeks ago really,when i joint here...as for talking to apostates well thats an individual view id say :) I know some claim to be but by what they say its clear they arent,they are hurt and angry,which I can understand. Many on here pm me and we have nice discussions,they dont judge just as i dont..... just like you and I,we are finding out why eachother thinks the way they do,kinda,that sounds real odd lol but dont forget ive been hurt too its just my scars and pain drew me ever closer to Jehovah and made me want to stand even firmer beside him. Whatever reason people have to fall away thats truly between them and Jah, :) Has that come across ok??
Yeah, I think I understand what you're saying. From what it sounds like, you're saying that you've been hurt by the organization, prehaps disagree with a few things, and want to find others like yourself so you know you're not alone.
And that's EXACTLY what I felt like back in 2005.

You haven't offended me in the slightest, angel eyes. But just as you're curious about where we've been, we're also curious about you. When did you decide to go on the Internet, looking around for JWs, and when did you decide it was OK to talk to apostates?

The people I've explained it to (co-workers, college friends, etc.) are always astonished at the whole thing. I've had one co-worker ask me "so, tell me how it works again?" because he could just not believe that family would enforce a disfellowshipping like the JWs do. It has nothing to do with "keeping the congregation clean," because any thinking person realizes that you can't set up arbitrary, extra-Biblical rules and be seen as a loving organization, or that excommunicating someone is the best means of making them conform to those rules, or that you even have a right to do so, or that it's even remotely psychologically healthy.
The Prodigal Son didn't have to write his father a letter and wait six months, and then be vetted by a panel of window-washers, did he? his father waited for him, and i don't think if he saw his son walking by, he would have turned up his nose and acted like nothing was there.

I had the enormous privelege of going to pioneer school with my mother. We had to stay at a home together. Joy. What fun. But seriously though, it wasn't that bad, but very exhausting, since on top of all the endless "study", I had to deal with my mom constantly.
Incidentally, within 6 months about three of the pioneer school people were DFd for various reasons, and many others were no longer pioneering.
A question for you Angeleyes: How long have you been disobeying the Society's admonition to NOT go on the Internet and talk to apostates?
And I've "been faded" since about 2006. It was somewhere around then that I stepped aside as an MS, and stopped going to meetings/service/etc.

Attended DC this weekend, quick recap...the End may not be imminent could take a million years but its still coming
by shopaholic inattended the dc this weekend in california with a jw acquaintance of mine that wanted to go 'jw man-hunting' and didn't want to go alone.
she knows i'm not active and haven't been to a meeting in a long time and have no interest in jw men.
i think she feels like she has the best of both worlds with me, anyway it was interesting...the gb appears to be changing their tune and i don't think the masses even realize it.. br.
