Does Anyone remember "Nemesis" by Shriekback?
by lepermessiah intime for an obscure 80's classic..... i heard nemesis on sirius the other day and had to run out and get the album (oil and gold) again.. i think it came out around 1985, and it has some incredibly bizzare (and cool) lyrics.. all i know is that any song which contains the word "parthenogenesis" in the chorus and manages to rhyme it is quite an achievement!!.
it also features the singer claire torry (who sang on the dark side of the moon album) singing at frequencies that could break glass .
the video is pretty wild too!.

It just shows that they don't need or want a person with actual qualifications, just another talking head to state the obvious and say some mildly funny quip once in a while. Basically just B and C-list celebrities who have outlived their use as entertainers.
In ten years, you'll have Paris Hilton judging dildo swallowing competitions.

some have been sexually abused by elders in Jerkhoobahs Org, some have lost loved ones due to the blood ban in the Org, some have lost loved ones due to the organ transplant ban, there is countless reasons that have been explained over and over again since you joined this forum!

can you really ever fade with immediate family still in?
by oompa ini am beginning to think not....elders still want to call on me rather than befriend me in any way.....and with a "good" wife and son and parents in, it seems like i still have one foot in only because of the overlap with my other "free" self........it is hard to really feel free in this situation, and is still have desire to just run the fluck away.....which would mean pretty much giving up my family in nearly every respect.
some here really miss their family and wife, others so love the freedom they seem able to move on and start fresh....as you know, i dont seem to have the balls for that, and at this point in my life the price seems to high to fully start over........it is the "one in one out limbo dance"......oompa.

Ive done it 4 years and counting. I was lucky in that my wife has found a way to be happy with me as I am and is not so gung-ho about JWism that it keeps her from being loyal to me. It's kind of touch-and-go with my mom, but that's to be expected.

Attended DC this weekend, quick recap...the End may not be imminent could take a million years but its still coming
by shopaholic inattended the dc this weekend in california with a jw acquaintance of mine that wanted to go 'jw man-hunting' and didn't want to go alone.
she knows i'm not active and haven't been to a meeting in a long time and have no interest in jw men.
i think she feels like she has the best of both worlds with me, anyway it was interesting...the gb appears to be changing their tune and i don't think the masses even realize it.. br.

Every GB member loves to give conjecture. It's their way to feel like actual spiritual leaders because everything else they do is so corporate. So I think we often read too much into what they say when they pontificate and preach... it's just ramblings. Until something is printed in the Watchtower, that is.
Every GB member has their own version of the organization's future, and that colors all their talks. You can see this while at Bethel. They have cart blanche on what they want to say (as can be shown by Losch's infamous college speech, and especially by Bethel talks and morning worship), and don't organize and strategize about every single thing that comes out of their mouths from the platform.
