It may be "nothing new," but it's being publicized!!!
We don't need "new" dirt on the WTS, we just need it to get out there...

Scripture that says something like in heaven you are neither male or female?
by Bambie init's been many years since i thought about this, but recently a friend and i were talking and i briefly mentioned that in the bible it says that in heaven (or at least, those resurrected to heaven) are neither male or female.
i don't own a nwt or any bible anymore, so can someone look in a concordance and find that scripture for me?
i'd really appreciate it.. and please, if i remember this jw belief incorrectly, please set me straight..

Its funny but, with me, the more I read the bible (NT) and closer I became to God and Jesus, the further I got from organized religion.
Same here! But the more I read, I also found myself not being able to believe in the god of the Bible.... I wished it hadn't turned out that way, but I can't pick and choose what best makes sense to me. We all have our own mental and spiritual inclinations, I guess.

Read the Bible, choose a book or letter, try the Gospel of john, maybe the NIV or the Jerusalme Bible or even the NKJV, and just start reading from chapter one till you are done ( you don't have to read it all in one sitting, LOL), ask the HS to open your heart and soul and spirit to what you are reading and you will see somethign wonderful happen.
The Word of God lives in Us and if you let it, it will lead you to God's undying love for us, through his Son Jesus.
Or, you may find yourself turning away from the Bible and/or religion entirely. In either case, it's your path to take. Don't be in a rush to replace the faith you are losing. Give yourself time. It will likely take years before you really settle down emotionally and spiritually.

Good lord, having a baby right away just seems like self-inflicted torture. My wife and I have been married 7 years, and only now are we preggers. I'm glad we've waited, for a multitude of reasons.

my parents got 4 and 5 decades of JW knowledge on their side
Hold on there. Your parents have 4 to 5 decades of ignoring their own reasoning ability, ignoring outside evidence, and suppressing their doubts. What you need to embrace is that DOUBT IS A GOOD THING.
Doubt is a survival mechanism. Our minds say, "hey, something's not quite right here... maybe I should look into this more before accepting it as fact." Jehovah's Witnesses CANNOT listen to that voice, because their beliefs are so fragile.
It's by no means limited to JWs, though. Anyone who's beliefs are built on a fragile foundation has to suppress that voice, as well. In fact, they demonize it, and convince themselves that if they listen to it, they'll in effect, die.
It's fear. Fear that their whole world will no longer make sense. And that's pretty much what happens, but only for a brief period. After that, EVERYTHING makes sense, and suddenly there's a new world to discover.

So, Was Your Life RUINED Because You Were A JW?
by minimus inthe fact that you were a witness, did it actually "ruin" your life?
?.
-
daniel-p
No way. Life is it, the only thing we got... if we let anyone "ruin" it, that would be the same as committing suicide, in my opinion. There's always room to give, to love, and if you do that, you've reached the height of living.
