That's right, Priest, you were right all along. I am an idiot.
That wasn't for you dude. It was for Silvia.
Ah, I see. I should have never assumed you would deign to address me and my idiocy in public!
i put up inter-connecting words and a latin phrase a few days ago in a different thread.
do you know the missing letters?.
amor omni_ vincit love conquers all.

I've tried to do the crossword puzzle in my latest issue of Harpers, but so far I just show myself to be a complete idiot.
ok some of you will laugh at this, but it's true, there is a spirit that haunts the premises where i work.. it has spoken to me once when i was locking up, it was 1 single word "hello", i looked around and saw nothing, i ignored it, set the alarm locked the door & went home.
other times i have felt something brush passed me as i have entered the building early in the morning.
the experience that got to me most happened the other nite when i was called back to the store by security, as i pulled into the drive way there was a man standing at the rear of the building, in the split second of looking away he dissapeared, there's no way that he could have run off the property in that split second.. what do you think?.
There is plenty of proof, but the way you deflect the issue is like this: So you don't have to accept it, you set up a burden of proof that you know will, more than likely, show no paranormal activity at all.
LOL - my "burden of proof" is simply any amount of evidence that holds up under scrutiny. Would you take a drug that had not been tested, but just had a bunch of unverifiable claims as to its effectiveness? Would you expect the claimants to provide proof that it worked, or would you just take their words and personal beliefs at face value? Would you then berate others for asking for proof? .... Expect in this case I'm not even asking for absolute. proof.
And of course "I don't have to accept" extraordinary claims without evidence. That's actually a healthy, logical thing to do. The unhealthy, illogical thing is to believe outlandish claims without any objective evidence. Oh, and by the way, personal testimony is not objective evidence. It's valuable evidence, and it has a place in scientific inquiry, but it's source is inherently subjective, and therefore unmeasurable and unrepeatable, because that person's state of mind cannot be accurately replicated, and no one can seperate cleanly the inputs from their environment and the mind that processes those inputs.
It's not unreasonable for me to be skeptical of paranormal activity in the absence of the kind of evidence I mentioned above; its unreasonable to expect people should take every claim at face value.
according circuit overseer, brother splane will visit spain branch, in ajalvir (madrid).
the objective is to sell the factory and the 450 apartment complex, how much money?
more than 1.000.000.000 euros!
A billion euros??? That's a little far-fetched.
i apologize if this has been mentioned, but i don't have the time to come on here as often.
yesterday's bookstudy on divorce got my shorts in a bit of a knot.
apparently, according to the god's love book, a wife could consider legal separation from her husband if she is physically abused, but (get this) only in the case of extreme physical abuse, and if the wife's life is in danger.
However, even if you were to consider it abuse, perhaps we should think about other things that fall into that category. Emotional blackmail is common in many relationships. Emotional abuse through being negative and insulting is also rampant. Not showing the partner respect is common. And, in fact, I would wager that nearly every relationship at one point or another has elements that may be considered abusive. As I said, I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying how it is. People shouldn't run out and get a divorce every time there's an abusive element, especially a passing one that is not the norm. If they did, no one would stay married.
There's no legitimate objective threshold for abuse. No one can say "your husband did what? that's not abuse... you shouldn't leave him," because every person has their own limits and desires for staying or not.
The most important point is that this is an area where the Society (and society for that matter), should not intercede. People decide for themselves to get married--they should decide for themselves if and when to split up.
In my mind, any amount of physical abuse and habitual emotional abuse is crossing a line... but that's just me. SOmeone else might have different thresholds for what they'd be willing to suffer.

Ghost hunters? Are you seriously kidding me?Why would I be joking?
Then you could either prove that they are legit, or you could gather "evidence" that the whole thing is a giant hoax.
You don't have to go with them, I said "or some group like that".
What's the matter? Are you afraid? Afraid of things that don't exist?

The way it works in the real world is that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. In your example of such above (the TV show "ghost hunters"), the following would not be met:
"recordings, videos, etc. that have been produced by honest researchers (and not quacks or hoax creators), that have been independently verified? Has anything ever been recorded in a controlled setting, and thus having precluded any tampering with the scene?"
I don't know why you want to act the fool here, unless it's just to be the contrarian to everything I say. You should know, though, that simply being a devil's advocate does not make a person more intelligent.

Are you referring to videos I can find on Youtube? No. There are websites you can find that deal with the things I mentioned.
Yes, but are there videos of the things I mentioned, namely "recordings, videos, etc. that have been produced by honest researchers (and not quacks or hoax creators), that have been independently verified? Has anything ever been recorded in a controlled setting, and thus having precluded any tampering with the scene?"
If you know of videos like this, please share them.
Of course, if people want to absolutely believe in the supernatural, no critical question is ever legitimate.
For people who absolutely do not want to believe, their is no legitimate evidence.
From my own experience, and obviously from other's experiences, these events happen whenever they happen.
Maybe you should go with the Ghost Hunters, or some group like that, on one of their investigations and see for yourself.

This is what I think: If ghosts do exist, why is there not one shred of objective, verifiable, repeatable evidence proving so? Why is there ONLY testomonial evidence? There ARE photographs, videos, recordings of evp's, but skeptics like to fall back on "they were doctored".

Are there any recordings, videos, etc. that have been produced by honest researchers (and not quacks or hoax creators), that have been independently verified? Has anything ever been recorded in a controlled setting, and thus having precluded any tampering with the scene? I don't think these are too big to ask, considering the extraordinary claims.

I don't posit that our experience changes the world. Rather our thoughts change the world.
But doesn't experience also include our thoughts? In fact, isn't our experience chiefly comprised of our thoughts?
