HI there, Tttttttttt Afer the recent total downfall op science's gurrrrrrStephen Awking ( God does not exist ),maybe we shouldnt give science the credit it demands when it comes to knowing everything and proving everything. I embrace science but there's no worship here. The existence of an entity we call God is just an option. You either believe it or reject it. Science plays no role in it. If science cannot prove the existence, than blame science, not the option. Xianity as we see it today has nothing to do with the early movement 2000 years ago. Roman Catholocism, where it started to go wrong, was a political movement in a pseudo-religious wrapping. Protestants are merely protesting Catholics, branches from the same tree and roots. It's politics. As the re-election of Cowboy George Bush has proven. Evolution and creation ( I would prefer the term organisation of things as the second president of the Mormons would call it), are both options. NO more, no less. About Jesus or Yahoshua, I say this: Robin Hood probably didnt exist either, but everybody understands what the myth is all about, decency in mankind. the Fox

Biblical Prophetic Years of 360 days in length
by VM44 init is taken as an axiom by the jehovah's witnesses and the adventists that a biblical prophetic year is 360 days in duration.
but what is the origin of this idea?.
the bible itself does not define a "prophetic year" of 360 days, or any other number of days.. so where did the concept of a 360 day prophetic year come from?.

1878 was first mentioned by Russell's former mate Nelson Barbour, an Adventist who published the Herald of the Morning. e claimed thatin 1878 Christ would return to earth, visibly. When this didnt happen he had to bluff his way through it and wrote that Christ had returned but invisible. Taze kinda liked it and took it from there. He calculated a little more, even with the help of the pyramid of Gizeh and came up with a few new dates. 1918 being one of them. Rutherford in his days was intrigued, he needed a little gimmick to present to the flock, mostly ex-catholics at the time who desperately needed to be reassured. So the spaceship JC been going around this globe ever since then. Invisible. I make the same claim about Elvis. Somehow people laugh at me. Dont understand it. Cheers the Fox

A question about the 44,000?
by caz ini studied with the jw's on and off for a couple of years and i could never get my head around the belief that 44,000 ( special ones) would be going to heaven and how they themselves worked out that they would be one of them?
i remember at easter one year i was invited to a 'special' meeting, i think they called it "the memorial" or something like that.
anyway, they passed around a goblet of what looked like wine and a plate of broken crackers and everyone just passed it around the whole room, from one person to the next.

As I understand it Revelation ch. 7 (take it from the top) tells it all. The 144.000 are the Bride taken from the 12 tribes of Israel.Gentiles and Heathens were never in the Bride-plan. They were gathered within 30 years after Jesus'death and resurrection. The great multitude as in verse 9 is the Servant of the Bride, the real church of Christ on earth as opposite to the Roman Cath. Church that had and has the Bride-claim. When the Servant of the Bride was gathered it was time for earthly rebellion and reform, or the Renaissance, which means, as you know, Rebirth or the next chapter, this time of silent worship. When Satan couldnt find the 'people of Grace', he started to build the churches of wood and stone and lured the faithfull inside saying: this is a house of God and here the Word of God - quoting from the Biblebooks - is spoken.Crap ofcourse but very smart. Churches of stone and wood were never part of Jesus'preaching. The world was f*cked again by Lucifer. Credit where credit is due, this angel knows how to seduce. Wish my girlfriend was this good. Cheers. the Fox

Hi Hellrider, Good question. Couldnt really tell you were to read it. Others will. In my opinion its something like this in practice: the real prophets got their info straight from heaven, the false prophets quote the real prophets without adding anything to it cause the heavens are closed to them. take care the Fox

Hi, my name is Llowieke (the fox). I'm from the Netherlands. NO I'm not a former Witness, so this is not entirely my battle, but I'm sure they will consider any non-Witness a plague. I will be a plague to them.Be sure of that. On the positive side: childhoodfriend of mine has become a Witness. His heart isnt really into it, but his wife...well you know how it is. I showed him the pest-article and asked him if he considered me a pest too. He moaned and said some nasty things about American Witnesses. So why am I on this forum? Well, I love the scriptures and with my knowledge hope to turn their (JW's) none-faith into a real Armageddon. Problem is, the Dutch Witnesses are really polite. Naief, blind, but polite. That's even worse than the pigvomit-ones. YOu can't pick a fight with them. Strange thing: in all of the New Testament I cant find a txt about anyone bearing witness of Jehova. Christ is the word, Christ is the name, not Jehova. That's old hat. Interesting reading this Forum. Feel sorry for all you guys and gals that had to put up with this rubbish for such a long time. Wish you strenght and peace. I'll be around. God bless. Llowieke
