I remember hearing one about two "sisters" who went to the door of a psycho rapist who did not harm them. For some strange reason the police asked why not and he said it was because of the huge man that was with them. Of course no one was with them. It must of been and angel!!!
Oh my God! I can't believe how many times I was told that one as I climbed out of the car at a scary house! AHHH! It never occurd to me to ask why the police were asking him questions after or how the witnesses ever heard about it to begin with.

Prisila,
Welcome. I am also new to the board. I read the board everyday for a long time before I posted though, I was so nervous. I think it is great that you are seeking out help. Leaving isn't going to be easy, but hang in there. Places like this will help you. I think reading the posts of some of the Ex-Jw veterns is powerful.I also lost all contact with my parents and sisters. It was hard at first, but now I have new friends and feel like I am being true to myself and what is right. I think that you have to do what your gut tells you is the right thing to do. Seek out other ex-JW's when you leave, either here or in your town. It is your key to strength.

My husband slapped me. He was an elder and I was a regular pioneer. I had been one for 10 years. But a young girl in our KH had been disfellowshipped. She was 17, and I thought it was so cruel. I didn't say anything, but I did made eye contact with her as she sat on the back row at meetings with her parents. The feeling in my stomach told me it was WRONG. So, I vocalized it. My husband was so appalled, he slapped me, I fell down and cried, then I began laughing hysterically. He said I was crazy and left. When he came home, I was gone. I never went back home, or to the KH. Opps, except for my judicial hearing. Of coures, I was soon disfellowshipped my self. My only regret is that I didn't leave when I first felt that prodding that something wasn't right.

Devils Advocate-A Question for X-JW's
by apostate man inok, i am going to play devils advocate and ask the question: are the jw's correct about anything?
surely there has to be something that is commonly agreed upon to be correct.
i am not talking about what current jw's say, i am not talking about simple things like: read the bible, or be a witness.

I can only see one thing that I learned being a witness...
1.) I have learned that when that little voice in my stomach says
something isn't right....I should always listen to that.As far as doctrine goes..
I don't believe in a burning hell.. -

Special Dub Words That Make You Go YUK!
by Englishman infor me, the word was "loving".. great "loving" kindness.. great undeserved "loving" kindness!.
disfellowshipping is a "loving" provision.. when the wtbts want their accolytes to swallow another bitter pill, another restriction, another rebuke, another demand on time, the buzz word is "loving".. the "loving" word, is, to the average jw, the same as the mccabe nod is to the salesman.
the mccabe nod is used by salesman all the time to get the prospective customer to agree to something that he doesn't care for too much.

I agree with JerryTx. I am DF'd and they shock factor of losing all my family and "friends" in one day was almost too much...and I have lost the opportunity to help get one of my sisters out. Just be inactive and drop little tidbits here and there, you never know who will hear what your saying.
