You don't need to be a Zeppelin fan or like cats to get a laugh from that! Thanks for sharing!
have you ever seen "girls gone wild"?
imagine seeing "jehovah's witnesses gone wild!!!
"----can you picture witnesses taking a bite out of that blood sausage just because they're dared to??
A sister sneaking in to take a Yoga class.
An older brother at a newstand buying the SI swimsuit issue.
An elder at a Chinese restaurant reading his fortune cookie.
i just came across this comment by albert:
"he who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt.he has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal
cord would suffice.
Which book was that that you read anewme ?
I admit that I haven't read a lot of Einstien but what I have learned about him has totally impressed me. He was a deeply spiritual person who credited all of his insights to God and relied much more on intuition and inspiration rather than intellect. One of his most famous quotes is that he wanted to think like God thinks--the rest is just details.
I also learned that he was a warm and loving husband and father, some of his greatest writing was produced while tending to and rocking his child.
As it does with everything, the more I've learned about him the more it has changed my view of him.
here is a great quote on fundamentalism by jimmy carter.... .
i define fundamentalism as a group of invariably male leaders who consider themselves superior to other believers.
the fundamentalists believe they have a special relationship with god.
That's a great quote ! Thanks for sharing.

recovering from being a jw is hard as hell, all your structure and life is built on study, ministry and meetings.. leaving is like someone after stacking up boxes to make steps, pulling the bottom box away...but the people who make it through become strong people and rebuild their lives, make new friends and move on.. what i want to ask is could you read literature by/for jw's now you have left?
i think yes, my reason being is i know that they play with information and then change ideas, there is evidence of this in older literature.. as for current literature i wouldn't bury my head, yes i don't agree with what they say but i am not afraid to point out things.
Someone gave me a recent Watchtower and I truly got a little queezy reading it. It's disturbing to see just how easily it is to fall under the spell.

this week, my congregation has the privilege of the visit from the circuit overseer.. my mother took a day off work to go out.
i put in for extra hours.. in the off chance we get wrapped up in discussion, what should i say?.
The last time I went in service a year ago was with the CO. I had just stepped down from being an elder and he wanted to know why. I told him that I felt that there were to many things in the elder book that "went beyond the things written."
He replied that almost everything in the book could be found in the Watchtower. I said that I believed that Paul was referring to the Scriptures.
He had no reply and we walked back to the car and that was about the last thing I've said to him.
Anyway, you could ask him if he thought the Witnesses were right when they said that religion is a snare and a racket.
i just picked up "the american religion" by harold bloom.
he reviews and critiques american born religions and has a chapter on jw's.. here's some quotes i loved:.
opening sentence of chapter- " every national faith is bound to call forth it's antitype, and ours has produced it's antithesis in the pecularily stark phenomenon of the jehovah's witnesses.".
Ok, this was posted about 13 hrs. ago, 93 people have viewed it and not one response.
Is it offensive, boring, already related or does it just leave one speechless?
desiderata .
go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
as far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
I've always loved this poem. Especially the parts about not comparing yourself with others and that each of us has a right to be here.
