  What I HATED most about being an elder was judging everyone and everything---now I truly don't judge anything, it's WIDE OPEN.

  I have a few friends who have since left and they love to remind me of " Remember when you told me that I shouldn't..."

  I get worked up and reply that " I am not responsible for anything I did or said while in the cult!"

  Use of [Brackets] in the NWT......

  in the introduction to the nwt with references edition it is stated on page 7 - under the subheading "the translation into english" - "brackets: single brackets [ ] enclose words inserted to complete the sense in english text.

  many of these 'insertions' change the entire doctrinal view, as we have seen discussed before.

  since the nwt is not an accuarate translation, and has been used to indoctrinate members with biased views that harmonize with the wts doctrine anyway, i was thinking it might be good for them to make a few momentous changes that would eliminate the need to even bother publishing articles in the watchtower that bends and twists these scriptures to fit.

  Giving that there's NO evidence in the original manuscripts of the New Testament of the name YAHWEH I think they should have used brackets to indicate their assumption as well.

  Bottom line : every time Jehovah appears it should be like this [Jehovah]

  This would let the reader know of their assumption.

  so there i was... (i've always wanted to start a story with that line) .

  i'm sitting here taking a look at the posts on jwd when i start to hear a commotion coming from the direction of the cats' litter box.

  i look and one of my cats is jumping and flailing around... sometimes stopping to drag its ass across the floor... with cat crap dragging behind it.

  The Worst Public Talk Ever

  what was the absolute worst pt you had to sit thru?.

  i was thinking that for me the worst outline is "get a firm hold on the real life".

  yes a life constricted by endless and ever changing rules, burdened by guilt, fear and obligation, and all the while hoping for an empty promise has got to be the "real life"

  i'm the type that rathers not answer the door, when an elder will come over, to try to bring me back on the road of eternal life.

  how about you, do you rather answer the door to them, or just avoid opening the door, when you know it's them?

  Going to the Circuit Ass this weekend

  need some suggestions on what i can do mentally, or physically if applicable, to pass the time.

  i actually thought of having another kid just so i'd have an excuse to walk around and not listen to the crap but of course they dont announce the assemblies 9 mos in advance normally.
