Cool, me too.
100 years ago going to the moon was impossible, so was flying around the world, watching a football game a world away ect. ect.
maybe it's already been talked about here but has anybody seen: what the(bleep) do we know?.
i just got done watching it.
after studying quantum physics for the past few months and the link to spirituality this movie is great!.

Elsewhere, to chalk it all up to "psycho babble" you certainly seem to know a lot about it. It reminds me of the catch phrase "higher criticism"
I don't know if any of it is true, certainly the theory you lean to has merit as well. Isn't the important thing to just keep considering everything and understanding that no one is going to be (nor needs to be) right? We stop growing the minute we think we've found "the answer".

Thanks for the input daniel-p. I can see what your'e saying about the water crystals and would like to get more info on it. I'm glad that they told of their backround and education, these are people who study and dig for answers unlike the people I used to get my answers from.
However I didn't see them as arrogant. They readily admit that the more they know the more they don't know, they're baffled but speculating.
Also, these are people from different backrounds and schools of thought that come together and harmonize thru science, not conforming dogma. They don't speak as an authority that is asking you to follow or believe---just think.

I certainly respect your opinion Elsewhere but could you explain where they distort the facts about quantum physics. How much do you actually know about the science?
Also, my bubble is not burst. I've learned from my experience as a JW to not get stuck in beliefs, I simply love exploring new ideas.

It gives a magnificient theory to life and demonstrates the futility of our old concepts of God. It points all humanity in a new direction!
so says my mom who is seeing that much of the "truth" isn't really all that true but she is stuck on "jehovah" being god's name and how only the witnesses make known his name.
what would you say in response?
You could encourage her to read the appendix in the back of the reference NWT where they admit that there is NO evidence that the Divine name appeared in any New Testament manuscripts. Over 5000 different texts comprise the NT cannon and not once does the name Yahweh appear. It's right in their own bible but hardly any JW's know it!
i'll start:.
hey brother smith, how about if we go preach the good news tomorrow morning, hey?
pick you up at 9
This is a great thread!!! I'm drinkin' some rum and totally enjoying this!
How about: "We must remember, it's a perfect organization run by imperfect people"
"Don't go there --that's "'higher criticism'"
"Isn't it amazing how with Jehovah's spirit we can build a Kingdom Hall in 2 days" --"Wait a minute why are they all having mold problems now, didn't Jehovah help us build it?"
" Just wait, someday they'll see who's right"
"We must be humble" even though we're God's "chosen people"
"Why can't people see that this is obviously "Da Troof"
or from my former PO- " I'm so glad the FDS does all this work for me because I don't have the time"
also from him--" There's a fine line between being objective and apostate"
lori (my girlfriend - a non-jw).
and i had quite a discussion last night.
i am almost always a very tolerant, easygoing person, but there is this one aspect of my personality that has caused us a certain amount of tension.
The trait of an enlightened person is being able to see and hold 2 different (and even seemingly opposing views) at the same time and make the connection to the whole. Digging in and defending a point of view keeps one from seeing the bigger picture.
.
if only witnesses have the truth and only them will be saved, i guess that god doesn't care much for people in india and china (who represent together about half of the world's population).. out of the 2.5 billion people in both countries combined, how many witnesses can there be?.
a rough guess: 1 witness per 100,000 population
" and will prove all men liars" is that including you slave1111 ?
