Just wondering if anyone else ever had serious reservations about JW dress code? I always wondered why we had to wear BUSINESS SUITS like some one from wall street. After all is'nt the business suit a secular uniform? Here in california it gets extremly hot and too have to wear a new york style business suit on a 110 degree day imho was shear torture..

Skirting the issue
by Virgogirl inwhat argument is put forth that women must only wear dresses or skirts to the meetings or in service and are not permitted to wear slacks?
where does it say it's wrong for sisters to wear pants, and how are they convincing women in 2005 to buy into this?
i remember many bitterly cold chicago mornings with frozen legs running to doors and back to the warm car as quickly as possible, wearing a skirt which was ridiculous and inappropriate to the weather conditions.

Mary lol The whole rock music and satan thing ... used by so many parents... hehehehe I remember buying that AC DC album and also KISS lol. Whats more interesting to me is the whole idea that the brothers try and burn things that are some how DEMON posessed. But to no avail the items just wont burn!!! WOT is that not kind of backwards if the brothers are trying to remove a demon or whatever shouldn't the urban legend make them the HEROS for destroying the demon. I have heard many many accounts of this burning process. Anyone around here former elders or whatever can anyone actually substaniate that the brothers ever did this or that the items could not be burned. lol

TROLL DOLLS ARE EVIL....
back when I was young we had these small troll dolls become popular and so I wanted one after all the COOL worldly kids could have one so I asked mom.
MOMS URBAN LEGEND REGUARDING TROLL DOLLS
you cant have a troll doll those troll dolls are demonic some little boy had one and it caused all sorts of demonic activitys to occur in their house so you cant have one.. oh and heres the kicker they took the doll to a elder but he couldn't burn the doll. OoOOoOoOoOoo this scared the living hell out of me. (Oh and I have heard another version of this involving the smurfs doll? are we being invaded by demonic dolls?)
KARATE... SPIRTIUALISTIC
I wanted to take karate class for physical fittness reasons.

You can not take Karate classes becuse a brother that became a black belt after becoming baptised quit practicing karate and tried to get rid of his black belt but it just kept re appearing so the elders where summond and could not burn the black belt ... ( notice a pattern here ) also very strange is the fact that the brothers cant burn anything thats demonized?
PLANET OF THE APES (action figures)
You can not have any planet of the apes action figures becuse it supports the "Theory of evolution" and of course if it supports evolution then it will be a source of magentisim for the demons to attack you by. just like the troll dolls!

by IT Support indoes anyone have any experience regarding anonymously registering a new domain name?
there are a number of us registrars offering anonymous, or private, domain name registration, where the registrar registers the new domain name in their own name but the customer has full rights to use, trade, sell the name, etc.
they usually charge an additional $5 to $10 per month for the service.

IT Support, You could probably form a corporation to get some legal protection i,e- lol ask a lawyer if they can sue the corporation but not you personally alot of states have different laws and for the internet, if your business assuming its a business. it better be because designing, building and protecting it from vandals is an expensive deal not to mention hosting costs, interstate tax on and on and on.. here in california anyone can sue for anything bla bla bla bla bla... oh and by the way you better LOVE the topic of your site becuse you will be up to your NECK in support too.. unless you have about 10 years of web experience or it's some kind of a (high profit, low risk) business I would say just forget about it. Oh and if your interested on how theres all those hate sites and crap on the internet and how they dont get sued or punished ... often times those sites are registered with stolden credit card information.. yup they just punch in someone else's cc numbers over at godaddy.com and blam they got a domain name.

Anonymous Domain registration is good! but expensive... it will show your whois info as the top level domain you registered with.. not your billing information and your domain provider will forward everything to you. :) hope that helps

Thanks for replying to my post :) and for the welcoming to the boards! it is nice to know that there are so many people in my situation or simular situations out there that can relate to being involved with the organization and what it does to family. The statements I made above where not really in defense of WTS.. in fact to be honest I have never had a good feeling about "The Organization" ever since I was a small boy playing under the seats at dodger stadium during the heat of summer I always had an uneasy feeling about "The Organization" at the age of 14 or so I was given some (modest pressure) to get baptised and after reading some of the treads here in the forums and piecing the changes in WTS change in stance together it seems like just after I started refusing to go to meetings and stuff around 1980 or so the WTS took a hard line stance on things. I just assumed it was my parents being freaking overly unreasonable and did not realize the changing of the JW idealism. I was asked to leave (read thrown out into the WORLD, ironic isn't it) and basically shunned by most of my entire huge family (YIKES!!!) and considered a very and I really fullfilled their every expectation of it. LOL had I been baptised I probably would have been disfellowshiped INSTANTLY LOL. (( OH AND HOW DO YOU GET CAUGHT?, any one df please let me know! )) for the shunned its not really much better except you never really getaccused of anything (they just know your a badsheep, lol) The ones that didn't completly snub me let me know for sure that I was not a "REAL" part of the family (grrrrr, lol) I suppose I could be very resentful and go on and on and on etc for all this but I also did come away from it a very strong person and due to recent events in my life am just considering things again. I actually found this site while doing some searches on amazon book stores started reading some of the threads about Ray Franzs book everyone seems to like it around here can any of you fill me in ?

growing up, i felt absolutely smothered by my parents (mostly my mother).
the things i couldn't do were above and beyond the limitations put on the other young people in our hall.

How's this for shock and awe? In Malawi, JW's were raped and murdered because they refused to purchase political party cards. (You remember that era, I'm guessing) The Watchtower told the brothers in Malawi that buying the card would be taking a political stand, violating neutrality. So they obeyed and died.
Firstly I would like to say that I feel for anyone that was murdered or raped or the familys of them and would like to make a couple points and share a first hand experience with you. hehehehe (wow I still remember kingdom 133t$peak) lol
1) Have you ever been to mexico?
Some time ago my (sibling) was taken to jail in mexico for partying a little too hard while at hussong's cantina. The mexican police arrested him and took him to mexican PRISON not a regluar jail seems he had broken some arcane law that was a major offense. The ambassador to mexico called my house and well the bottom line is that we flew down there and essentially met with a (extortionist) I mean lawyer he says to us come up with 5,000 cash to give to the court (I mean bribe the judge) or my sibling gets 25 years in mexican prison. Seems the mexican goverment at that point in time there was so corrupt this transaction happend within 15 mins and my brother was out. All in open court as if it was not bribery or the same thing as bribery. so without knowing the details about how EXACTLY the transaction happend I would in fact say that my experience is that the mexican govt at that time only would except bribes. thats their system from what experienced thats just how the mexican goverment operates. So I can directly understand how the brothers would be faced with payoffs everyone is on the take in mexico you even have to bribe people at the mexican DMV to get your car registered lol. (this bit of info mite clarify to people around the world the situation comparing the differences of the govts)
2) Have you ever been to Malawi?
I have no idea how their govt operates but it could be a completely different situation. Some senarios that come to mind are that they could possibly use a political card to track and kill or rape more JW's.
3) Have you ever held a political card? if so please tell me about how it works "but remember that information would only apply to your govt or area that the cards a valid authority."
Thanks for your reply tho but it was not the SHOCK and AWE that I am looking for.
