  Why Do People Kill?

  i know that killing has gone on since the beginning of time.. but i wonder why some people kill?.

  are they typically screwy in the head?.

  are they just angry at the world or their family member or their boss?.

  This is what we call "justifiable homicide" in the south - sumbitch NEEDED killin.

  Sickening Dilemma

  i would like to have your opinions on what i should do about a situation please.. i have recently discovered that a 'brother' in the congregation (which i no longer attend) is a child molester.

  i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.

  the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.

  I would say that he is virtually certain to do this offense again.

  It may not have to be you, but SOMEBODY really needs to tell the mother of this child before she marries him.

  BTW - what kind of whacked-out shrink would say that this kind of person is cured and will not molest again? That goes against everything we have ever read on the nature of these offenders.

  JWs say it's my fault I didn't go to university ?!

  like many on here, as a jw trying hard to follow the direction of the gb, i listened to the advice to pioneer and trust in jehovah to provide (mat6.33) instead of going to university.

  after struggling for ages in low-paid physically-demanding jobs, i decided to become a student (thanks for the encouragement on here guys!).

  i tell a jw i wish i had been to university when i was a teenager, and put all that pioneer time into studying hard for a good grade, get a good job, and if i had wound up tired as i am now, at least i would have been paying into a mortgage on a home and pension.

  That is what they said when they changed their minds on taking CO assignments later on.

  I never once saw a successful appeal....Even though as an elder, I helped a friend of mine prepare one once! I thought we had an airtight case to get the DF overturned......I was wrong. That was the case that opened my eyes and began my journey out the door.

  I concur with this...never, ever saw any appeal go ANYWHERE. I am not saying that there has never, ever been a successful appeal, but they would have to be so rare in occurance as to be practically non-existant.

  I was just discussing this, as a matter of fact, with a local ex-JW at lunch this weekend - and again, we both agreed that appeals against a DF verdict go nowhere.

  Ladies and Gentlemen - (no matter what Ballard says) - there is NOT ENOUGH WATER to cover the entire earth, including the tallest mountains, in a Noachian global flood. There is absolutely no fossil or geological evidence of such a preposterous event.

  It has been speculated many times (before Ballard's quest) that a localized flood around the Black Sea could have occurred.

  Not a global flood that killed off all plant and animal species - such a notion is quite simply ridiculous.
