  The Tower of Babel based on plans of an ANTEDILUVIAN building?

  hi guys ,i hope you can help here .i'm currently researching the tower of babel and the reasons for building it in the first place?

  could it be that nimrod had information or plans based on a pre-flood building ?

  bab+el=gate+god could it be an attempt to rebuild a pre-flood structure that served as the gates to the god's (whether materialised satan+demons) or base of angels on earth ?

  My Humble Opinion of This Forum

  first off, i love frequenting this forum.

  it has given me the opportunity to truly put jw stuff to the test and i thank everyone for their helpful responses.. however, i have noticed a couple things.. 1) the use of the word "troll" is completely childish.

  this is no different than the name calling used by jws (e.g.

  Greetings from a new member

  greetings everyone.. just wanted to say hello to everyone, being a new member from western europe.. some may know me from another forum (eden, from e-jehovas-witnesses.com), but most don't, so this is my little intro.. male, in my early 40's.

  still an active member in good standing of a jehovah's witnesses congregation in my country, and honestly not planning to change that status, despite my unorthodox beliefs.

  sometime i will elaborate the reason why i don't feel i must leave.

  What--according to Watchtower canon--was the reason for the death of animals before the Fall of Adam?

  I asked this of a circuit overseer and got told that animals always died because they were different than humans. (Jehovah never intended them to live forever) - Really. So then I asked if this meant that animals would still die in the paradise earth, and got told that we do not know that. So - they KNEW that animals died in the garden, but DID NOT know if they would die in the new earth. I actually found all this completely silly because I had been to science & biology class and knew how old the dinosaurs were.

  hello jwn, in chapter 28 of the jw revelation book it interprets the "beast out of the earth" or the "two horned beast.".

  this wild beast has two horns, indicating a partnership of two political powers.

  and it is described as coming out of the earth, not out of the sea.

  Actually, it's made up crap, so it's like arguing about whether or not the enterprise could blow up the death star.

  Or like arguing whether Nostradamus predicted Hitler (or, if he did, what possible good it did the world for him to predict it).

  Two points:

  1) - 666 may not even be the correct numerical translation of John's Revelation.

  2) - Alistair Crowley was nowhere nearly as evil as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot. He was hardly more evil that L. Ron Hubbard.

  Speculation on the mumbo-jumbo of Revelation is always without meaning.

  As for starting a new religion, and this being a place to "recruit" ... neither I'm thinking about starting a "new religion" nor am I "recruiting" followers. My site is an attempt to create a community. You, as everyone else, is welcome to take a look. If you personally decide you don't want to have anything to do with it, you have exercised your right to free will. Nothing wrong with that, is it?

  You contradict yourself. The semantic difference in "recruiting followers" and "creating a community" is meaningless, religiously speaking.

  What I see you are doing is hanging onto the JW world for support while simultaneously trying to create and promote your own religion.

  It is (again) my opinion that you should figure out exactly WHAT your new personal religion is BEFORE you try to promote it to others.

  This site has historically proven to be very difficult ground for people who want to preach their personally derived belief systems. We are almost all ex-JWs and are quite vaccinated against religious whimsy or nonsense.

  India Buys New Fighter Jets from Russia

  the wall street journal reports that india has again made a decision to buy 42 russian sukhoi su-30 mk1 fighter jets that will be assembled in india.

  additionally india will buy 71 m--17 v-5 helicopters.

  another deal was signed for russia to manufacture the ka and mi brand of helicopters in india .

  Mexico, Jgnat - but we do not keep reserves of fighter jets for use against the Mexicans...(for the simple reason that the Mexicans have no fighter jets themselves). Fighter jets are an air-superiority weapon useful only against other fighter jets. Note that this is a different role than bombers or ground attack aircraft.

  But I think you are right in a sense - perhaps India fears that some other power will provide fighter jets and other aid to Pakistan - who knows?
