I'm a Citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany by birth, but I live in the United States of America by choice. I love this country so much I served a 3 year term in the U.S. Army, and if I wern't too old I'd be in a set of BDU's right now to defend the freedoms I have come to take for granted.
I'd like to remind some of you U.S. bashing skeezbags, that if we had remained as neutral as you suggest we should, you'd be flying a hammer and sicle flag, and worrying weather or not the KGB was gonna come knocking on your door for using more than your monthly allotment of toilet paper. on the one hand, they claim that he was so drunk that the brothers at bethel shipped him to san diego to beth sarim, where he stayed drunk out of his mind, then on the other hand, they claimed that he ruled the society with an iron fist, that he was a dictator.
no drunk could have ruled the society like a dictator.
When I was in highschool, I wrote a paper on the presidency of Ulysses S. Grant. Now there was a major drunk. Did you know that during a review of troops he was so drunk he fell off his horse and broke his wrist? He bacame so drunk during a world tour, that he wound up having sex with his wife in front of several wide eyed sailors. During the battle of Shilo he managed not to pass out untill the battle was over. So saying that Rutheford couldn't run an organization made up of a bunch of followers who thought he was a direct channel to God if he was an alcoholic, is quite clearly speculation on your behalf.

Spaz (what an apropriate name), I have never been a JW, allthough I studied with them for a while. I never bought into their world view or mindset. I have done some quite thourough investigations into the WTS for well over 4 years, and to be honest, absolutely none of what you say has any merit whatsoever. To be quite frank, you sound like somone who was romanticaly spurned by a JW and therefore has an ax to grind with them. I'm not saying that many here don't have a similar agenda, they however seem state their case from a standpoint of knowledge and experience, rather than from reading a few Watchtowers and lunatic conspiracy websites. You sound a bit like a know-it-all teenager who thinks he can disguise his lack of any real knowledge by the use of big words. So I have one one bit of advice for you Spaz, partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, just quit smoking the leaves.
