I don't really listen to music at home, but that may be due to the lack of sound on my laptop. Otherwise I don't leave the house without my iPod rockin. Between that and my gf's penchant for music in her car (I'm sans coche at the mo), there's rarely a time away from home that doesn't involve audio stimulation. In the past I had a car without a stereo and it drove me absolutely crazy!

How do you organize your music collection?
by restrangled inseems no matter how hard i try, it winds up all shuffled up, cd covers lost, inserts pulled out, and a pile of loose cd's because who ever is listening never puts them back.. if a few are out no problem.
right now i am working on about 300 loose cd's with run away covers.. i must be doing something wrong.. do you organize by the type of music...like classical, rock, jazz,....?
do you just do it by alpha?

Before I had iTunes, and iPod and a laptop, I organized my tapes/CD's alphabetical by artist then chronological by album. After expanding my collection substantially, I gave up on keeping them organized all the time but did a yearly re-alphabetizing. Usually my iTunes is listed by artist and my iPod is on shuffle 24/7

I'm a big fan of silent observation. I'm a big people watcher and actually learn alot from observing other peoples' interactions. You can save yourself alot of embarassment by taking the time to listen before you speak.

don't marry that unbaptized meeting going sister, or loose your privileges
by DaCheech ini've got one of those forever single friend.. he tries to be friends with every kind of "spiritual" sister out there.
they use him for gifts, rides, and paying their diner meals when the friends go out.. he's in his late 40's and has himself been used by 5 sisters in a 15 years span.. he says he's found a good one, but she goes to meetings and is studying the "troof".
his elders and nosybody acquantences have told him to lay off of her until she's baptized and then some (2-3 years for prooving herself in the lord) or else loose his priviliges.. i tried to nonchalantly telling him that was hogwash, but the pharasees have a grip on him.

It never occurred to me that some of the person's still single well into their 40's were that way due to interference from the elders. It makes sense that they'd meddle, but I'd never experienced it or been that close to someone who had. It's sad really, especially when the dubs already make it so difficult with the social restrictions and backward thinking about love and relationships.

I do somehow every year. It's the one time of year I can dress up and cut loose. Not that I dress all that differently on a daily basis, but I like the freedom. Also, it's just a good reason to go out and have some fun with my friends. Usually it's been a few drinks at a bar or two, but this year my gf and I are going to the coast with a couple of friends. Should be fun and relaxing as well as a good excuse to get out of town for awhile.
As far as "celebrating", not so much. I don't have children and don't care to sit at home and hand out candy. I can't be arsed to decorate the house or any of the other usual stuff, tho I do like to carve a pumpkin every several years.

Marijuana---Is It That Bad?
by minimus ini've never smoked tobacco or a joint in my life!
i know some regular pot smokers and they're pretty cool people.
they typically say pot is better than alcohol and that it should be completely legal.

While most of my own use has been strictly recreational, I am strongly considering medicinal use. I have had asthma my whole life and have suffered to varying degrees depending on my living situation at the time. When I was married I had a cat (I'm allergic) but didn't smoke MJ regularly. During that time period my asthma became increasingly worse as time went on and I was eventually put on multiple prescription inhalers (albuterol, advair and singulair). Since my divorce and subsequent lifestyle changes (I'd only stopped smoking MJ regularly as my spouse did not smoke and was a bit paranoid about having it around), I no longer use the advair or singulair and rarely have need of albuterol (when I get a cold etc). This is despite smoking a plentiful amount of MJ on a pretty much daily basis. Ideally I will quit smoking cigarettes soon and will likely pursue using a vaporizer so as to minimize the pollutants inhaled.
I also had a pretty bad motorcycle accident in 2007 which banged up my left leg and hip. While I didn't suffer any broken bones, I still have a lump on my hip and experience joint pain after strenuous activity. Add that to lifelong joint pain and chronic back pain from my years in construction and warehouse work as well as a spinal contusion I suffered last winter (slipped on some icy stairs), and I have a steady need for pain relief. Maybe it's my mom's penchant for herbal medicine, but I'd much rather use MJ which is natural and clean than eat a steady quantity of chemical laden pharmaceuticals on a daily basis.
