  Are YOU Shunned By Jehovah's Witnesses At All?

  some witnesses speak to me quite normally/.

  others avoid me like the plague.. how are you treated by the witnesses?.

  I moved to another state then faded. I only attended meetings for 1-2 months and was shunned by the congos strictly for being new. The dubs I knew growing up (including family) shun me, but they are hours away and I don't try to contact them anyway. The few who actually met me/got to know me in the new state never really made an impact and never welcomed me into the fold. It's now been at least 13 or 14 years since my last meeting, I've changed cities about 6 times since then and have no contact with any dubs. I almost never have them at my door and am rarely home during "service hours".

  So yes RE family and no RE locals

  An additional observation, very few dubs are going to approach a large bald man with tats, piercings, goatee, kilt and smelling vaguely of pot. I do a very good job of broadcasting a "don't talk to me" circle around myself and it keeps the preachy types at bay (even the crazies on the bus), so no issues with being hounded by dubs now :D

  5 to 10 over depending on the situation. I did grab triple digits a few times but it's not a regular occurance

  Do you keep JW pictures???

  after many years of very active live in jw religion we have thousands of jw related pictures ... conventions, jw guests, jw friends ..... so btw - do you keep yours, or did you get rid of them?.

  my wife is still mentally in, so throwing all of them out is not on the agenda, but i dont really want to watch it .... it makes me feel embarassed how stupid i was ... on the other hand, i might want to keep some ... its still part of my life.... albert.

  Most pics from that era are in mny parents albums. The only one I have is my senior photo which isn't really dub related but I was still in.

  I guess the question for me would be what to do with them when my parents pass on. I have two other siblings who are on better terms with them, so it may not matter as much, but this will get me thinking for sure.

  would you ever go back just to have the social aspect in your life?

  Tho I did attend a UU church a couple of times, but I have other better social means and prefer to spend my free time in other ways.

  Nope. Here there's a larger issue with Influenza A which is worse. I had a friend that was hospitalized with it, seems like there's a propensity towards pneumonia with it. I have no health insurance and am not a high risk candidate, so I'll take my chances. I've never gotten a flu shot and rarely get the bug when it comes around.

  I was actually just thinking the other day about one thing I missed from the dub days. It was the few minutes alone in the dark early on Saturday morning before I met up for the laudromat circuit. Something about the dark and quiet was very peaceful to me. It's not something I've thought about or taken part in for several years and I've been considering a little "alone in the dark time". . .

  While in andliving my life according to dub standards (being a "good sheep"), I was on the recieving end of some of the most outlandish and destructive gossip I've ever witnessed. The rumor mill extended for literally hundreds of miles and the local elder's felt it appropriate to believe it and subject me to a fair number of "library parties" due to this bullshit. Myself and many others of the same age group were constantly harassed as though we were criminals and overt sinners. Nothing could be further from the truth at the time. I chose to move and fade in another state more to break free of the rumors, backstabbing and harassment than anything else. For a good chunk of time while fading I still lived according to the JW lifestyle but was still treated as an outcast and a problem, so I left. Since that time I have explored what I wish to explore and have made my own decisions as to what is right and wrong.

  in convasation with a american recently i was introduced to the horrific concept of putting cream in tea?!?

  they in turn were appaulled by the idea of milk in tea with 12 sugars ( al la builders tea).. so before i put the kettle on, how do you take your tea?.

  ( mine is english breakfast, milk no sugar, middle strenght).

  Honey and lemon should only be used with hot whiskey IMO, tho with just hot water it's very soothing on the throat.

  I've been a coffee drinker since age 4 (white trash ritalin), so tea has always been relegated to the "medicine" category, I only drink herbal teas (not black) and generally only when I'm sick. "Biscuits" are different here, but dunking in general is a no-go for me, don't like the sludge at the bottom of my cup.

  Most tubs or showers are too small for me and another person to "get around in" comfortably. My 2nd gf and I managed in a regular tub/shower out of sheer enthusiasm (we also covered every viable surface in the bathroom). There was another time later on where the shower was big enough, but it usually ends up as the starting point, not the setting for the whole party. . .
