  I dislike holier than thou people

  i was raised to be pentacostal.

  i hated that religion and their holier than thou attitudes.

  so, i went against my mother and listened to the dubs.

  Ms McD, I much agree with you in the holier than thou bit. Much of the reason I have developed some strong antichristian feelings over the years has to do with certain people's superiority complexes. When I wrote a letter severing ties with my JW parents, I sent them some CD's of music I compiled that was theme appropriate. One disc in particular was about "the church they rode in on", and this song came to mind when I read your post. It's called "Holier Than Thou" by Metallica, here are the lyrics; No more! The craps rolls out your mouth again Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin Little whispers circle around your head Why don't you worry about yourself instead Who are you? where ya been? where ya from?   My last experience was also in my mid to late teens, after that I was bigger than both of my parents (thus the name, big willy). I belive i volunteered for my last one, my sister and I were both screwing around in the yard instead of getting ready for the meeting. My Dad yelled at us both and gave her a spanking, I figured that if we were doing the same thing, we deserved the same treatment and volunteered for a spanking as well. After that, we reached a point where he had to look up to meet my eyes and i never was hit again. From there on, it was all verbal discipline. Big Willy

  to just leave and tell no one where you are going.

  start over fresh in a new place where nobody judges you based on your past.

  Yes indeed, it was actually an important part of what allowed me to fade. I got tire of the rumor mill, living in the sahdow of my father (never treated as my own person [even by the age of 20] just as B__'s boy). Any time anything negative happened in my life, everyone for a 60-100 mile radius knew about it (grrrrrrr still chaps me a little). After working in a deadend job employed by JW's for 4 years, I located a job roughly 2 states away and started over. It was much easier to make the break and get to know myself without the local rumor mill and family influence.

  Pint of Lager and a Packet of Crisps Please

  everyone knows you can't enjoy a good pint without a packet of crisps, but that's where the debate lies, what flavour do you choose, sure, ready salted is a good flavour you can't go wrong with, but really your tastebuds require something a little more, well, flavoured.

  so what's your favourite crisp flavour?

  personally i like tangy cheese dorito's they compliment a pint of fosters so well... .

  this question comes to mind right now because i seem to be surrounded by pregnant women.

  3 of the mom's in my sons' kindergarten class of 12 - are pregnant and in the other classes i notice a similar trend.

  it's not a large school - maybe 60 kids max between the preschool and kindergarten.

  I like that AA, I'm sure most of us would agree we never lived until we left the org. I do have to admit to a strong desire to spit in their eye, but would like to take the high road so to speak.
