Actually FWIW, the writings of Josephus, (yes, he was Jewsih, so probably biased), give fairly detailed evidence of the greater blame being that of the Romans.
Following Dansk's train of thought, it is worth asking if the passage Testimonium Flavianum qualifies as conclusive "secular evidence" or disputed "Christian interpolation"?

The Bible is NOT the word of God
by sinis inafter reflecting on the article i have come to the conclusion of the author as well, in that the bible is not the word of almighty god.
perhaps some tribal demi-god but not god almighty.
good read:.

There are some sobering points in those articles. Kudos to the author.
And thank you sinis for bringing this to our attention!

3 years ago a witness kid (18 years old) jumped off a bridge to his death.. the latest news from the jw grapevine is that a jw kid that i knew (he is now 20) is in the insane assylum.
it seems he was found swimming towards bethel from vancouver (he left a note) this was at least a 1000 miles away and he never would have made it.

Thank you for your words of reason, Inquisitor. I've had to commit my own son for schizophrenia. In his case, invisible robots were shooting invisible lasers.
With pleasure, jgnat.
I'm sorry to hear that your son is unwell. Is he coping well?

Look at it this way - does the bOrg really help? - Josie
Exactly, there is precious little that the Society encourages one to do. - ocsrf
Nobody's arguing that the Org makes it any better! I was making the point that we cannot gather our suicide/depression accounts to accuse the WTS of causing mental disorders such as schizophrenia. A distinction which mrs.jones herself concedes:
So while the bOrg may not incite or cause mental health issues (personally I lean towards that they actually do) they really don't do anything to help those among the rank and file who are dealing with such issues. - Josie
Accountability alone does not prove causality.

A Bad experience with JW is a permit for SIN?
by El Mariachi ini've been reading some sad experinces here... i dont see anyone talking about the bible... only how misserables the organization made their lives... ok ...so because of that...now i have permission to smoke marijuana and commit fornication?
this sounds pretty much like aa... and everybody having his/her personal "superior power" who is giving them the permit to do whatever they want...
i've been df for 4 years now and also dont agree with some jw teachings... why instead of blaming the wt for everything dont we look for the real truth in the bible and make things right.

Did I inspire you, jeanniebeanz?
It wasn't that difficult to work out that our new friend was merely pretending to play Devil's advocate at the start.

Went to a Public Talk and WT Study, after about 5 yrs away.
by frankiespeakin init was boring,,snooze city, there were room for a bout 200 and they didn't have more than 40 in attendance very few youths mostly older ones(30 and beyound).
i didn't have a clue what the speaker was saying thank god i came a 1/2 late, those poor poor people that have to sit thru such mind numbing drival about how we are to treat people in the congregation and not to be jealous bla bla bla.
the wt the reader was drone the conductor brain dead and every body answered the wt by practically reading their answer word for word from the wt,, it was pitiful,,pitiful.

I guess my sense of humour is more conservative compared to most posters on this thread. That's why we don't agree.
Here's a question for you married ladies: Would you still be amused if a JW elder you didn't know, approached you when you are by yourself, asked you out to coffee to *talk to you about the Bible* when you sense he has more than just the Bible in mind?
Then again, perhaps you would. So I'll just leave it at that. I'm tired of defending a lady's decency.

The proof that there is GOD it is you. Or who gave your excistance (sic)?
Who made me exist? Two copulating human beings. I call them "Mum" and "Dad". My existance is proof that they exist. I don't know if our humble lives can be used to prove that a Supreme, All-Powerful Lord of the Universe exists. A bit of a stretch don't you think?

Nobody saw creation of anything in Hiroshima and Nagasaky in 1945.
You seem to be taking a p*ss at the Big Bang theory. I don't know enough about the theory to know how I feel about it. But isn't the Big Bang to do with the formation of planets and the universe and not the almighty spark of life as your mockery implies?

LOL, IP_SEC!!!
El Mariachi, if you wish to know where my avatar comes from, here's a clue: Daniel 10:13.
Dang, even the word "avatar" has *demonic* origins, doesn't it?
