i've been off the jdub boards for awhile, and just found this one and was wondering if all the old timers that helped me pull through my wt-induced haze are still around, or if they have been taken out by the super secret theocratic hit squad:.

so how, or where, is kent from norway, jan from sweden, mims from canada and i think gary from nebraska(?).

i know mine has.

i went back to my flat earlier this afternoon to pick some things up, i am moving out of there slowly, and was carrying a heavy box out to my car when i stumbled and dropped it on my foot.

it wasn't too painful, thankfully, but i came out with a stream of expletives, most of them beginning with f. when i was a jw, even thinking those words would have filled me with shame.

I started swearing before I left, a teenage stage I went through I guess, now I try not to swear but still do,but not in a mean way just like "hey how the hell are ya!" or maybe I still do but don't notice it

just wondered as im prob about to give up so much, coz i dont think it is the truth but its come as such a shock!.

my family believe it so much, my dad feels he can answer any question i have, and being brought up in it sometimes it scares me.

I used to before I really looked into things, but then I visited JWD and talked to my mom about different teachings from JW's that just didn't make sense, or were wrong, and thats when I finally realized that they do not have the truth, no more guily conscience for doing normal things for lucifer

Would you want Jesus as a friend?

whilst christians like to portray jesus as the supreme example of love and mercy ( as opposed to a supposedly wicked 'watchtower god' ), does the bible's presentation of jesus cast him in quite the same flattering light that christians like to believe?

for instance, at revelation 19:15 jesus is described as 'smiting the nations and ruling them with a rod of iron and treading the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty god.

' does jesus sound just as bad as the 'wicked watchtower god'?

Guilty conscience

my ex-bf is a baptized jw, i've been studying for about ten months already and i'm about to start in the school.

when we were together, we were very intimate, there was never any penetration, but there was pretty much everythings besides that.

not that its anyone's business but this included oral sex and such.

Why are friendships important to you?

my teenage daughter is out with her friends so i'm alone here tonight, but not lonely.

conventional wisdom suggests that a solitary life isn't healthy.

friends and close relationships help people live longer.

My best friend in the whole world is like my other half, we have known each other for almost 6 years. It doens't matter how I'm feeling I never have to say a word and she can tell, and also help cheer me up. they know what ticks you and what makes you happy. I feel like if I ever needed anything she would at least try to help me. I can't imagine not having her as a friend, I dont mind doing things alone sometimes but I like the company as well.
