  well yes, ive lived in oz for 35 years, but i still claim my english heritage.my blood was starting to turn blue again, but now it is just flowing in the gutter of despair.

  I would love to see the USA progress to the finals,its so boring Germany and Brazil have won it so many times,lets have someone new,the USA,Spain ,Korea whatever would be great,

  a change is as good as a rest.

  The winning goal that wone Brazil the match was not that brilliant,I think David Seman was definately suffering from his earlier injury that helped Brazil get both goals,shame we didnt sub him with (Cornish) Nigel Martyn ,he was in pain and not so flexible after the injury.

  ok, so england lost 2-1 against brazil,but at the end of the day it could have gone either way but luck was on brazils side,and throughout the tornament england have proved true gladiators.. congratulations brazil and well done to the england team.. i think that playing footie in that searing heat does favour an equatorial country a bit,i think that if the game was played in cooler evening conditions it would definately have favoured england and made it tougher for brazil,i mean personaly in 80 to 90 degrees of humid heat i dont feel much like moving let alone playing a fast game of footie yet in countries like brazil it is a normal day,since the world cup is so often played in these conditions to accomadate league fixtures it is often more of a test of heat stanima than football ability,anyway it does get a bit borring when the same old teams keep winning ,a bit of a foregone conclusion,zzzzzzzzz,at least france was a change last time,.

  who can rise to the challenge and take out boredom from the finals.. congratulations brazil and well done to the england team .

  been reading some of john boswell's - "the kindness of strangers" , in which he re-constructs the laws and social attitudes, to "getting rid" of unwanted (live) children from roman times to medieval times... .

  just wanted to share this story... "the story of the nun of watton".

  maybe some of us will relate to the girl in the story..... a 4 y.o.

  I strongly agree,the WTBTS cannot legaly do these things today ,they use the maximum punishment on dissent that they can get away with by law,as it happens its shunning etc,or as Ray Franz put it ,they carry out a figurative stonning to death,if they had the power they would probrably do it literaly.

  when i was a 'dub, i beleived that faith was the hebrews 11 thing, but since i have put aside that way of thinking and no longer believe god or believe the bible to be anything more than a collection of human history and philosophy, i tend to think in terms of faith being no more than the dictionary definition: .

  1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions.

  2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to god (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust.

  Sometimes when PROOF is asked for in believing in a particular belief,the answer comes back,'Just have faith,'

  So it can often be used as a sort of cop out .

  why do almost 70% of the members who post here, put down the witness?

  i'm not a witness and i dont wanna be one, but whatever the witness did to y'all, just put whatever in the pass, and look towards god's promises, and also look forward to christ promises, and remember that, aint nobody perfect, because we all is imperfect & full of sin...... .

  As far as I am concerned I dont want my life revolving around the Jehovahs Witnesses now that I have left,I have many other things in life which I am occupied with.
  So why do I bother posting the wrongs of that religious movement?

  Prehaps we should all keep silent and just let them get on with it?

  The process of being in a control group and actually comming out is a very traumatic unique experience,like coming from a point of a sort of slavery to freedom,we can meet here with others who know exactly what we have been through,and it does help the healing process and emotional scars,still, most of us are still affected in some way even though we have left because of the watchtower policy of shunning which has osstracised us from family members,also the Watchtower policy on blood for instance mean that many inocent are suffering due to the ignorance through deciet that the Watchtower produces which costs lives including that of children,should we keep quiet about that?

  You know the saying,'Where good men keep silent evil prospers,'well,due largely to the part of exposure through the internet the Watchtower has been exposed as a fraud and not what it claims to be,ie 'Gods Mouthpiece,'and many have been helped to see through the con and illusion and be fred from this cult,exposure to the truth is a cults worst enemy,and many members of the public who are potential recruits have taken a second look at this religion due to the efforts of many ex JWs and some who have never been JWs but have taken the trouble to find out the full story,hence in many lands the JWs see zero or negative growth.
  This religion wrecks lives and families and every one prevented from going down the JW path has been saved a lot of potential trauma.

  Of course nobody is perfect and I dont expect perfection from any individual witness or otherwise.But exposure of a control organization? That is surely a good thing,provided it is not an obsession,to the point of preventing normal day today interests and activities,and moving on with life generally.

  Dateline Dissapearing Act?

  im just starting to get this suspicious feeling.. .

  why is it that there is no mention of last tuesday's sceening on the dateline page?.

  all other recent shows have some sort of mention,and are even on streaming audio,prehaps they will get round to doing it for this one,but i,m sure they had the highlights to last weeks show up and running by saturday.. why am i suspicious?.

  Im just starting to get this suspicious feeling.

  Why am I suspicious?
  As I have mentioned before,back in 1996,I was involved in a regional TV documentary on the Jehovah's Witnesses which was screened on BBC2 regionally and an audio version on Radio 5 nationaly,this really did some good in exposing the Watchtower at the time,but after the show was screened their is usually a talk in on BBC local radio stations in the region,the BBC even had plans to screen the program on TV nationaly,but it all went silent,and BBC local radio would not even accept calls on the subject,I mean on a local radio station the subject was censored.

  On investigation through the producer we found out that the Watchtower society had put its law department in full swing and frightened the BBC with various legal threats about future screening etc.
  Here we are with the BBC one of the champions for free speech in the world,silenced by the Watchtower,even though they didnt have a leg to stand on,they really know how to throw the flack,put on the legal frighteners and use loopholes and that is why they invest so much in their legal and PR departments.

  I hope they dont repeat history,but fortunately,the major hit has already happened by it being screened in the first place,so now its just a damage limitation excercise.

  So often they have compared themselves to the theocratic Nation of Ancient Israel,a Theocracy,and talked about the Spiritual Paradise,in which people can enyoy Paradise in a Spiritual sense.

  What! A spiritual paradise in which children cannot be garanteed protection,some paradise!
  
  Now they say its just another Man run religion trying to atempt to follow the Bible,
  in other words ,just another religion,with flaws,that claims to follow the Bible.

  On another note they used instances of articles they have published to show how anti abuse is a top priority.
  But the Watchtower has also written articles on False Prophecy and Freedom of Speech,which they have proved complete hypocrites too,along with many other subjects,so to use the fact that they have writen a few articles as proof of any moral high ground is a poor track record.
