i met someone earlier this week whose ex-spouse is a jw - part of a fairly prominent jw family in this area.
although never baptized, this person studied and went to meetings for about 4 years.
this person even disclosed that they had progressed to the point of being an unbaptized publisher.
I was on the ministry with this self-righteous pioneer sister a couple of months back and I was intent on not witnessing to anyone.
After a few doors she turned to me and said "Don't you think it's about time you did a few doors?" To which I replied "You're doing really well so you can just keep going", she then said "But as a brother you're the head so you should be doing some doors" I said " Well as the head I'm delegating...YOU do the doors, obey me as I'm your head!"
She seemed pretty peeved at me...
being raised a jw, imho, is basically being raised with more demon influence then anything else.
i do not mean this in the sense that it might be taken.
what it did for me, the up bringing that is, is put the idea in my head that everywhere i went i had to be very careful of satans influence.
Actually I'm still a witness, allegedly, but don't believe in Demons or Ghosts.
I think there are things that at this moment in time are inexplicable but in the future there will be a reasonable explanation.

) and the elders have received the letter written about me.. i've asked to read it to make sure there are no inaccuracies but the elders have refused point blank saying i'm not allowed.. i'm certain that under the data protection act i am allowed.. does anybody have any thoughts on this?
could you point me to anything the society have said?

My dad is an elder and he thinks it's outrageous. I'm certain the letter hasn't been destroyed yet.
I'm thinking of getting the elder to phone the bethel service desk...it's nice to imagine him getting a bo**ocking.

the main point of this chapter is to try and show that the universe is very complex and also to suggest that complexity requires some kind of designer.
