BETHEL NEWS: Response from the Blood Email Drive
by Elsewhere ina source within the watchtower society asked me to post this information regarding the blood email drive that happened in late february 2006. in the email was a news article written by richard n. ostling (included below).here is what the wts source asked me to post: looks like the blood email drive has the boys at bethel in a fit.
rumor has it that hundreds of calls where received at bethel from across the country because the sender was "gary broux" (a heavy in the service department).
concerned jws wanted to know if gary had gone apostate.

To the above I'd add: So when the Watchtower Society over Jehovah's Witnesses teach JWs it is wrong to use emergency blood transfusions their teaching is dangerous, unscriptural and against the observed doings of God. Their usage of the name "Jehovah" as if something so exhalted as to protect their organization since it uses it is a usage of God's name that is in vain as seen everytime somebody dies after turning down emergency treatment.

MY FRIEND TONY, EASTER, THE EGGS, RABBITS AND CROSS
“This magazine article will really make you wide awake as to why Easter isn’t for truly ‘mature’ Christians,” the man told Tony on a spring day as he stood in a dark blue suitcoat and necktie at Tony’s door along with a younger blonde-headed woman.
“What do you mean?” Tony, who was thirteen, asked the man.
“For example, the day’s name is from an ancient non-Christian pagan goddess named Eastre, that’s what the ancient British scholar named Bede once said.”
Tony shook his head. “I would have believed that up until last year when I did a report on Easter in class. I read a lot and talked to a lot of people. There are other possibilities. Bede was only making a guess.”
“Like what?” The blonde woman gently demanded.
Tony answered, “It’s also possible the word for Easter came from the word eastern which is Old English or Anglo-Saxon for out of the east. Christianity came out of the East to Europe. To be exact it came from the Middle East, and besides that many Christians have believed from scripture that Christ returns from the east to resurrect people.”
The man in the suit frowned. “That sounds really good but you know the magazine also points out that Easter eggs and rabbits are the vestiges of ancient pagan fertility rites.”
Tony shook his head. “Christians use eggs and newly born rabbits to symbolize new life as in the resurrection of Christ which is what the holiday is about.”
“Surely,” the woman prompted, “you want to please God?”
“Of course.”
“Then here’s another thing to consider. People wear a cross, especially around Easter, even though they believe that is what killed Christ. Would you really want to wear a miniature gun on your neck symbolizing the gun that killed your best friend?”
“That’s a good question, ma’am. I wrote a note on that and have it in my Bible. Can you give me a second?”
“Okay,” the two agreed.
Tony sooned returned to his door. “Here. Paul says for Christians to boast of the cross because Christ turned it into a symbol of the resurrection hope. It symbolized his victory over death and what brought about death. Read it for yourselves at Galatians 6:14 and 1 Corinthians 1:17-18.”
The two blinked. “Well, to come to an understanding of the truth you must have the three H’s. That’s to be humble, honest and hungry. So I think we’re wasting our time here with you.”
Tony shook his head. “Why leave? Why attack myself instead of what I have to say? It’s because you can’t atttack the reasoning which is real truth, so you have to try to discredit me myself.”
The two backed away from the door. “Listen, the man said. We really must be going. We must preserve our faith in the one true organization on earth. God’s organization.”
Tony called after them as they scuttled across the sidewalk back to their car. “Come back again sometime. Christianity or all true Christians in it anyway is God’s organization.”
“I don’t think so,” the woman said, looking puzzled and as if ice water had hit her in the face.---------------------------------------------------------
Why not see that some of the Friends get copies of this? It's especially good for younger ones, who will read it then give a copy to one parent, who will then let the other parent see it, who will then give it to an elder, who will give it to the President Overseer, who will give a it to the Circuit Overseer -- or at least that's one of any number of possible scenarios. Another is that each who gets a copy will hold onto a copy to keep and use later.

Interesting. My advice for such situations where the other spouse who is pro-Watchtower won't listen yet needs informed (as determined best by each non-Watchtower spouse) is to use the indirect rather than the direct approach. What you can do is get names and addresses of other JWs then regular mail them copies of 100% factual informative material. Some of those who get the mail will eventually leave or cut door-to-door time, money donations etc. Send a whole lot of people letters especially the first time or two then just sit back and watch. The local elders will tell everyone to not read such “apostate” literature, but many who get it later will be all the more curious to read it, and they will also give some teeth-rattling platform talks against the "evil" person who exercised freedom of speech.
After a year or two after numerous persons the pro-Watchtower spouse knows have gotten the informative mail themselves, then you can send the material to the spouse. So in the meanwhile you will not feel helpless and in the end the other spouse will also be informed. In fact if some who leave are good friends of the spouse then when she does get his/her own mailing s/he too may be more softened up, willing to read it. At least this way you get things off your chest and you don't have to directly confront him/her with the facts again such that you get divorced.

Finally, using http://www.criminalcheck.com/ I got these names of convicted sex offenders. You can look to see which one(s) may live near the kingdom hall that way.
Does any other reader have the website url where you not only get a list of sex offenders’ names and addresses but a map with dots on it showing where they are living and any schools etc in the vicinity?
My purpose in doing this was to show you how easy it is to get such information so as to help provide information to parents (JWs and others) so that they can safeguard their children.
I recommend that you use the same approach to check for pedophiles who may be living near kingdom halls, schools and other children-packed locations in places you live in or used to live in. Then you can inform the concerned parents who in turn can speak with attorneys and police to safeguard the kids. Just mail or pass out the information they need to help the kids.

Jan. Where have you been? That's old news by now. How's Norway? Have you seen Kent lately? If so, how is he doing? Why don't you guys start a support group like the exJWs have done in Denmark?
Denmark's ex-JWs have campouts three times a year, give away JWs Do Not Knock Here stickers for doors, informational literature about the Watchtower Society. You could do the same in Norway couldn't you?
It could also set a good example for exJW in the United States or different states in the US. The BRCI did some good things (brci.org) especially at first but these days has not been nearly as active as the guys in Denmark are.
