  Metatron...Good to see you back..

  Having been a salesman for all of my life (although I lied to my kids and told them that I played a piano in a brothel) I don't have any problem with the WTS teaching this. This is good advice.

  I made all of my kids read "How to Win Friends...etc" by Dale Carneigie. We all need to learn how to communicate. As much as I disagree with the WTS teachings, it is their right to teach their adherents how to better communicate.

  Off the thread....if more folk read this Carnegie classic the world would be a better place.

  Rekless.. if you have a dry, droll, sense of humour you are an honoury Australian.

  I refuse to use LOL etc. If folk can't pick up on it that is their problem. But, gee, I've replied to heaps of PMs apologising to folk who I've upset.

  In Australia, "you old bastard" is a term of affection. (Except for Uncle Bruce).

  Best wishes to you Mexicans....Naah...I'm way out of the action. My mate John headed off from his cattle station at Richmond late last night with his big chainsaw and a generator to his house in Townsville. But at mid-morning his missus was out doing some gardening. He'll probably head north to give a bit of a hand. John loves cyclones...they bring him rain on his property.

  Thanks Rekless....No one here affected.

  Troubled Mind has a post going that gives good details. He called it a "hurricane". We don't have them in Australia. We have cyclones. I think the reason is that the wind blows in the opposite direction. Cyclones blow clock-wise.

  Troubled Mind's ignorance has caused his post to be branded as "scandal".

  Thanks Moggy....but I was far away from this cyclone...It is incredible that so far no life has been lost. But then those folk in NQ are no fools when it comes to cyclones and know what to do. I heard earlier that a trawler was missing of Cairns.

  By the way....If you get a "shadow map" from a pilot, you will discover that, mid-summer, the sun rises south of Perth before it rises in Cairns. That's because our planet is tilted.

  Find the proof and you will win heaps of beers in pub bets. It's true.
