  i made the most awful mistake when i posted a comment about spelling and punctuation on the "bible research etc.." forum.

  i learned that i can't just post comments about things when people are unaware of my sense of humour and my general nature.

  i have spent the day in tears.

  Hi Bigmouth.....

  I think that you should be made an honorary Australian. You have a dry sense of humour. You should laugh when someone reads it wrong.

  I tell ya....I am a member of a church that is based in Japan. (Sort of Zen/Buddhist). Most of it's members are Asian. Absolutely beautiful people - but don't expect them to understand the local sense of humour.

  Whenever I tell them a joke they look at me quizzicly with a stunned look. So I have to try to demonstrate the joke to them thru mime. Like playing Charades.

  Some of my jokes can be a little risque. I fear that if I demonstrate the joke I may be expelled from a church yet again.

  Lern,to/spel;and "punctuate"!!!!!

  maybe i'm tired but........at the risk of seeming overly critical,there have been a number of posts on this forum where the spelling and punctuation have been abysmal.i have no problem with the occasional error but the subjects here tend to be somewhat more complicated and it makes it too much of an effort if i have to keep re-reading things to figure out what the missing word was or where the sentence ends.one academic said it was no big deal as even his professors were poor spellers!well i've got news for you guys, if you don't sharpen up your grammer i'm not even going to try to give you the courtesy of figuring out what you're talking about.

  now,i'm going to have shower and go to bed and i want this thing sorted out by tomorrow.love pete.

  I really think that you should have used a "full stop" after the word "comma". Otherwise it doesn't really make sense.

  JW Events, Dress Codes and You

  if you were to attend say a wedding or a funeral that was being held in the kingdom hall would you make an effort to be presentable according to jw standards or go as you are?

  (we aren't talking about violating codes of human decency here).

  would you say a woman going to a funeral should have to wear a dress or a skirt?

  Like,,,.I heard on the local radio to-day (here in Brisbane, Australia), that London could possibly get 2 or 3 inches of snow.

  Poppy R..........You are totally correct. Couldn't agree more.

  But could you please put your posts into "pragraphs" (as Ozzie calls them) so I can read them more easily?

  Like, each separate thought in a paragraph. Then I can take my eyes off the screen and ponder your thoughts. Otherwise, I am not game to leave the screen because I can't find where I left off.

  i just answered a knock at my door, about 5 minutes ago, and it was two jws.

  they must either be pretty new, i didn't recognise them anyway, or hadn't looked at their list of people not to call on.

  they obviously didn't know that i am a da'd witness, and i didn't enlighten them immediately.

  G'day Yesidid.......

  Mate, I left over 30 years ago. But older siblings are still full-on in the org. They delight in keeping the local cong advised.

  My 88 year old mother just loves me reading to her from this site. She would love them to call here. She just wants to talk to them about 1975, about which JWs are in total denial now.

  Yesidid.........I think that what really pisses my older siblings off is that after leaving the Troof my life has been great. Jah never punished me.

  But.........that was a really cute sister that called......Aaah.

  My Mum and I would love them to call here but they won't.

  Well, I've had one call in the past fourteen years. And she was so cute that I agreed with everything that she said.

  But........she never came back. Alas. I would love to have a Bible Study with her.
