  raymond franz was a member of the governing body and was a jw for many years till he left.. he wrote a book which provides a great insight into jw's but what is really good about it is he isn't bitter when he comes across and so far i am really enjoying the read.. also in there are copies of letters sent from him to the society or the other way around and i recommend anyone who can find it should read it!.

  Ian...deep down daughters just can't help but love their Daddy.

  I think that you maybe could lay off all jw stuff and just give her a cuddle for no reason.

  If she has no reason to be on the defensive she may relax.

  Severus...Yeah but a "new light" came out in 1995. I read on one post that many elderly JWs left the meeting in tears when they realised that it meant that they could die in the old system. I understand that it was a brief mention in a secondary article in the Watchtower.

  Sorry, I haven't done my research.

  If your child grew up and became a Witness?

  i think we all think that our children would never do this, with us being so negative toward the faith.

  yet in reality, these children grow to be adults and will make their own choices in time, as to what they want and believe.

  i wonder though, would we spend all of our time with them trying to explain why we exited and why they should not believe, or would we just come to accept it?

  Please put in some spaces between thoughts. Make it easy for an old man like me to read.

  Short sentances, a paragraph now and then. Otherwise it is a burden to read.

  why is an active jw troll far below the level of a normal dub?.

  1) they come on the board blowing self-righteous bile out their holes while simultaneously violating the commands of their watchtower overlords to avoid contact with "apostates" (tm).

  I'm only new but I can easily recognise the frauds. It is good fun

  sf picked up on a fraud beautifully last week. He recognised the IP number as shown on everyones message.

  It is sort of fun to spot fakesters. When pm and I got stuck into each other the Mod turned us both off.

  Fair enough.

  Mary/Gumby......I reckon you're right about the 'new light' in the Feb 15 WT. as a preparation for a change of mind by the WTS.

  As one or both of you have pointed out before, they normally do this months or years beforehand.

  But it feels like that they have been rushed into this. Barbara's Big News pushed their hand.

  It's all so sweet. It may yet make it on to the cover of Time.

  Whoever did this press release is really on the ball and very professional. At the time of the first release of the Big News I exhorted someone to please give us a PR that we could forward to our local papers. When there was no response I was so disappointed. I thought that the whole issue would disappear.

  But you guys are very good. I am so glad that you didn't let us down. You have pushed the issue to the extent that the WTS is prematurily reacting. The Feb 15 Watchtower will be post-facto.

  I wonder if this has anything to do with the Feb 15 Watchtower (discussed on this site) exhorting JWs to be excited about "New Lights"?....Everyone wondered what the WTS was about to reveal. But it seems a bit early. Usually a "New Lights" item precedes a change by many months. Were they caught napping?
