never heard of it until today.
this is very interesting in its pages to talks about the great flood in which many people survived.
also talks about how the great plagues of egypt were caused not by god but was caused by a comet or heavenly body called the destroyer that is seen from earth as a red heavenly body.
Leolaia....
What an incredible response....
No. Do not just give a brief opinion in the future. You are not rebutting the likes of Skyman - he doesn't matter - you are educating us.
This site is so good.

i have been doing handwriting analysis for over 30 years.
my experience shows that it can reveal the inner mind of an individual.
i came accross a good sample of jt rutherford's handwriting on the inside cover of the 1941 book 'children'.. just a few of my observations of mr rutherford: his upward writing slant shows a postive mental attitude- the general slant to the right shows a man with above average emotional response.
Moshe....
Is it just my computer ?
I have to keep scrolling to and fro to read your most interesting thoughts. The sentences run off the page and I have to scroll across to read them (then lose my place when I come back).
This occasionally happens with posts and I usually skip them as they are too hard to read.
But this is interesting so I shall persevere.

retirement age 'should reach 85' .
by paul rincon .
My dear Mother decided to become a Travel Agent at age 68. Twenty-two students began the college course and only two completed it.
She immediately opened her own shop-front and built it up successfully over the ensuing 16 years.
When she was in her early '80's I recall her telling me that she was going to visit the local retirement village to pitch to the "old folk"
She sold the business at a fair price just before her 85th birthday.
Her father was appointed National Sales Trainer for a large Australian electrical firm (Godfreys) when he was 77..
after many years studying ancient history and being comfortable as a taoist i'm starting to accept that jesus the man might not have been such a bad bloke.
after researching the history of the jewish struggle against the romans my jesus has gone from a vague paulian myth to a man i can respect and admire.
an underground fighter against oppression.
unculebruce....Toward the beginning of this post you made a most disparaging reference towards wombats. I expect an unequivical withdrawal and apology. We are a protected species.
(Love your contribution).
i don't mean this as an insult, more of a life experience thing.
i saw a lot of people leave in my years there and a lot were angry with the religion and the people, and some even protested the kingdom halls and wrote things in the newspapers.
a lot though, came back in time, as it was just the comfort zone they felt at ease in.
Come on all of you. Be honest...there are things that you all miss about being a JW.
You miss the happiness....
Remember how happy you felt when it was raining or snowing too hard to go out in field service ?
Remember the happiness that you felt when the meeting was finally over ?
Remember the happiness that you felt when you weren't found out about something ?
Such euphoria is difficult to find in the "world".
i was just doing some recent observation of the youth group that im a leader at and i notice that there is this thing where we dont kick people out of youth group or really church for that matter....on the other hand is the jw where you sorta of make a minor infraction and your out the door.. .
so the question is...where do you draw the line?
i have kids at the yg who are disruptive and dont really pay attention when you talk to them but thats about it.
ICH- etc.
Nothing to do with religion. You just be the man and keep the little buggers in line.
Don't take any crap. Maybe many of them don't have a strong father figure.
From how you write there's a lot of love in you. Follow your intuition.

does anyone know if jehovah's witnesses still refer to themselves as "bible students?
" i experienced a strange situation sometime last week or the week before and i was wondering if anyone could tell me if they think it involved a jw or not.
i have never heard of jws making random phone calls to witness to people, but i guess maybe they do.
Kristyann......
I really enjoyed your post but ti took me sooo long to read it.
I am 60 years old and my eyesight isn't the best.
I have made this comment before. PLEASE put some spaces (paragraphs) occasionally.
Trying to read a huge page is hard for an old person. I keep losing the line.
Now, I've forgotten what you said. But I recall that I agreed with you...Cheers Wombat
quote: what i am waiting for is one of their rank and file elders to get sued over this issue and some of the hospital liaison puppets to lose everything he owns because of it.
this point was brought up in the "big news has started" thread (and is now buried on page 3).
interesting point, and i wonder if anyone has ever heard of a case where elders have been successfully sued over judicial matters (slander / libel) or wrongful death (blood)?
Going.....
It might not be fair but maybe Elders should be regarded as "collateral damage" in bringing down the Org.
