Ok, I know I haven't posted here yet, but I just can't think of anything specific. So just something cool would be nice.
Maybe they meant birth day, as in the very day that one was born, not the anniversary of such.
I get what you're sayin' though.
i have been busy for the past few weeks and finally got around to reading the thread containing bill bowen's latest letter to the governing body.
apparently the gb just locked the gates and ignored them.
correct me if i'm wrong, i haven't dug through all the posts... .
I should be careful with my words though, even if I am just kidding. You never know what kind of shock it can send some people to!

So I believe in a "higher power" but I don't believe that the bible comes from it or that it really cares. Would that make me a N? In that case I'm a RXN.
for several months now i have been writing back and forth to the service dept asking them to explain the difference between "those who simply leave the faith" and those who "went out" (disassociate).
the reason i am curious about this is because "those who simply leave the faith" are not shunned, however those who "went out" (disassociated) are shunned.
i have written twice and received two replies.
Whats sad is that in their reasoning they believe that the pain that you are being caused is good, in that it will either make you want to "come back to Jehovah's Organization" or it is the punishment you get for leaving "Jehovah's organization". It really shows how this religion strips away any natural affection people may have for even their own family members. What wicked, wicked reasoning. My heart goes out to you Elsewhere

my daughters boyfriend was at his moms the other night and the elders just happened to stop by and talk with him.. anyhow, after their discussion about him and my daughter and the baby and what they are going to do, (havent been to meetings in 7 months mind you), her boyfriend told the elders that he no longer wanted to attend meetings and my daughter told them the same.. the elders admitted to them that there is a huge number of people that felt the same way, and the halls are much emptier than they ever were.. hmmm, i wonder why?.

Amen to that openminded. I saw much of what you talk about in my time as a witness. The organization seems to be a haven for these kinds of people because of their policies. One, they provide an excuse for their bad behaviour because if you are attending the meetings and going out in service, they overlook a lot. And then secondly you get a whole support group that makes you feel "normal" even though ordinary people would think you strange. Yet just because you go out in service and go to meetings you can get away with beating your kids and being, ahem, most "un-christlike"
