Favorite Coffee
by Satanus inmy favorite coffee is starbucks house blend decaf and starbucks columbian.
i mix those two together equally, and make it really strong, like expresso.
i boil one large cup of water, dump in 4 heaping teaspoons of expresso grind, then pour it through a strainer.

"We will follow them to the US"-is this guy as moron?
by IronGland in"the insurgents' aspirations are growing.
abdullah, a midlevel leader of kata'ib, says he's happy u.s. troops are staying in iraq: it means he can be part of the jihad.
asked what the jihadists will do if u.s. forces finally pull out, one of abdullah's comrades offers this answer: "we will follow them to the u.s." .

Photos of Stunning Peacock which has been driving me up the wall for days!!
by Celtic inthis ruddy bird has been driving me up the wall for ruddy days with it's ruddy call, at first i thought it liked me, thought it might want to mate with me or something.
every time i got close to it, it would put out it's feathers in this enormous and beautiful display.
today however, would the ruddy bird do it for me, ruddy thing is as cantankerous as valis.

I lived at a place once that had a roving peacock in the yard. That thing was loud and usually would start squacking quite early in the morning. Ahh yes, the memories are coming back now, dark hateful memories that make me want to kill the lot of 'em!
ahem, sorry, yes, peacocks, beautiful...

MORE THAN TIRED OF THE POLITICAL CRAP!
by Valis inso, even after we agree there is too much politics, some here have decided to keep going over the same bullshit time after time.
stuff they have no control over.
stuff that pisses people off at one another.

When it reaches a point of "trench warfare" which is just as bad as one not expressing their opinion at all, then yes it becomes quite tiresome.
By now, most of us already know where each other stands politically. I would think it would be wise for people to continue to express their opinions, but show discretion into how far they want to take the discussion. Far too often what happens is a total breakdown of rational debate. Of course, this is up to each individual.
It is obvious that those with a liberal point of view far outnumber those with a conservative point of view on this board, but I don't feel that anyone here has expressed views politically that merits them being labeled as a bad person. This goes for both sides of the issue. I'm sure we are mature enough to think of someone as having wrong ideas, according to our own point of view, but still seeing the value in their friendship.
I think political debate is great, it keeps us all on our toes, and each and every one of us should be open to the idea that none of us have all the answers. We receive strength through hearing others points of view and those points of view should be welcomed and not shunned.

Has the Watchtower Society ever been correct?
by Lewis ini'd really like to know if the wts has ever been correct ... in all honesty.
i don't mean subjective, fuzzy dogma that has no empirical basis ... i mean stuff like 1914 and the original idea that it would be end of the world; millions now living will never die; 1975; the generation will not pass away ... ad infinitum.
i have no axe to grind ... i'd really like to know.

They said the word "the" one time in their publications, and it was the correct usage of that particular word. Aside from that, no.
