Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from a local non profit organization. A plea for help really.

A year ago they were going through a change in leadership, board, etc. at the same time as their web site URL was set to expire. They were unaware that they were on the verge of disaster until they received a phone call from a local citizen who had made a gruesome discovery, the web site now contained Porn. They have learned a very hard lesson.

It has been a year and they are still getting calls from people saying "do you realize your website contains porn?". They have to explain to the caller that their web site has changed to the new url and that they are trying to get all of the search links straightened out. (When I google for this organization I came up with close to 1000 entries. On the first google page there were 3 occurrences of the old web address being linked the organization.)

This organization is popular with both adults and children. So now we have the potential of children happening on to the site.

To add fuel to the flame this site attempts to hijack your web browser as well. Once hijacked you get the pleasure of pornography every time you open your browser. For most people this will mean a bill to pay someone to "fix" their computer.

When discussing this with local FBI they indicated that what had happened was not illegal , it happens all the time.

I have to ask myself "how can this be legal"? How can someone take a website that was owned by someone else and grab it for their dirty deeds? How can they create a web site that causes "damage" to someone else's computer? How can they cause potential damage to children by displaying this type of material? Why is none of
this illegal? ( It isn't illegal , perhaps unethical and immoral, but NOT ILLEGAL ).

It has been a year and this small non profit organization has spent time, money and resources trying to undo what has been done. They will probably never get all of the occurrences of these removed from the search engines. And if someone looking for their web site types in .com instead of .org they will be greeted with porn.

I urge all of you to check your web registration and make sure that you know when it is due to be renewed and renew early. Don't take any chances. These folks are laying in wait, waiting for your web site to expire so that they can snap it up and display their dirty merchandise.

this will also be my first time in a kingdom hall.

I have decided to go to my first memorial tonight and think it will be worthwhile and edifying. This will also be my first time in a Kingdom Hall. What do any of you think I should try to take away from this as a "bystander" so to speak? Also, what does my attendance represent to the congregation? Thanks Much To All!

Pay less attention to the messenger, and more attention to the scriptures being read. While the apostles didn't realize it, this was one of the most important "dinners" in history.

Be gentle in your expectations of the people. The vast majority of attendees at the Kingdom Hall are kind, good-hearted people...even our detractors will admit that. But, you will find many emotionally "harmed" individuals there; that is exactly who Jesus said he would seek out.

Your attendance will be viewed differently by each person. For example, last year, we had 6-7 Mormon "elders" attend our memorial. The brothers were positively fawning over them, as if they were really interested in us! I lived in Salt Lake City for 5 years, so I am aware that part of "what they do" is attend one or two religious services at various denominations so that they can say, "I've been to your church; have you ever been to ours?"

Some will view you as evidence that there are so many more people to come in! Others, will have a slightly more "jaded" viewpoint. But, I can with great confidence say that you will be welcomed!

after my wedding i sent out an email to every non-witness i know and jw parents and a couple of siblings; the first group to stay in touch with old mates or turn near-strangers into friends in a time of needing them; the jw family group so that they'd know what's going on in our lives and how the wedding etc went and partly because i didn't want to be 'shunning' them; i wanted to be the one showing love and making an effort to maintain contact.

i sent another out recently, i figure i'll make it a biannual report on the life and times of the frass family.

it's nothing at all controversial, just a 'what we're up to' email.

Psychologically, the WT has taught it's members that when one drifts away, that that one has no life. So once you relate to them how you have MANY FRIENDS, A PURPOSEFUL LIFE, YOU ARE LOVED, YOU HAVE PEACE OF MIND ...bla bla bla (all the things that psychologically go against what the WT says about dfd people) you will create a disturbance in their thinking when an article or talk comes up about disfellowshipped ones. Their neural path has been carved out by the WT... df = bad life. But now you will have created a different neural path (how can df=bad life when x is telling me that df=good life).

Cause if you tell them off, their thinking about df ones will be confirmed ... df = bad personality. MESS WITH THEIR BRAINS WITHOUT THEM KNOWING. THAT IS HOW WE GOT JACKED IN THE 1ST PLACE!!!

ahhh as the dreaded holiday nisan 14 swiftly approaches i chuckle as it also nears my birthday which happens to fall on the 12th of april...ahhh feels great sharing my most unjw of holidays with the most jw of their holidays...lol.

i think back to all those years of going to that stupid meeting and laugh now...wonder if i should find a kingdom hall, walk in quietly and kind of undercover and when it comes time to sing their "melodies' break into a loud rousing chorus of happy birthday to me!

that would be classic...sigh.

your posts have been interesting. I have been intrigued by the "evil forces" you mention [lizard people] etc etc. I have been listening to http://www.coasttocoastam.com/ ... are you familiar with that radio program. It plays in california from 10pm - 2am or so.

nonetheless what do you mean by " life extension medication" - that is new to me.
