i know of a family who has suffered tremendously when their son (15) came down with a mental illness - he cuts himself, has intended suicide 5 times.
he hard a hard time dealing with so many issues that he at one point told the elders i don't want to have anything to do with the jehovah's.

What bites me the most is that the congregation/family supports the Elders stupid decision instead of supporting this poor kid. They would see this different if their kid was suffering with the same illness. Such bastards. I know deep down they know the elders were wrong, you can just tell.
The kid is not sure of wanting to go back. He said he wants to go to college. I told him, go for it! I'll support you.
with two thirds of my sentence complete, i am almost ready for parole.. there was some unbelievable stuff said today - i think there must be some sort of hallucinogenic gas coming through the ac, because no one batted an eyelid over what was said from the platform.. as usual, i will highlight the main talks.. .

Biggest crock in the world! I was at Bethel and other x-bethelites can confirm. You would think that bethelites would be the most urgent at this, nonsense. The only thing urgent is planning your next vacation.
I mean, the GB's don't walk around with a sense of urgency. You never see them running to the next meeting. It's all talk and #'s.

Right away when I left bethel i went to visit them. I knew he was dfed. I gave him a hug. His brothers and sisters (the fam.) sat around and we talked and they reminded me that he is dfed. I said I know, don't worry about it. In Bethel, I knew of many elders who made many mistakes, and the one made here is a major one. Anyway, the family was happy I dropped by.
I told the father that most elders are not trained in matters of mental health and to stay away from those that try to counsel them.

ah hell no! Not the red book! If you do attend, make sure you get the updated notes from bethelites. I am sure they will be working on one once it's official. It will be an addemdumb of sorts.

the june, 2006 issue of "our kingdom service" is available for download at reexamine.org.. this issue contains the yearly reminder for young men to register with the selective service.. here is the exact announcement.. from: our kingdom ministry, june 2006, page 3. u.s. selective service regulations require that all men register at the post office within 30 days after reaching 18 years of age.
a male noncitizen under the age of 26 who takes up residency in the united states must also register with selective service within 30 days of becoming a resident.
all of those required to do so should comply with this law, viewing it as a christian's obligation to the superior authorities.
