  Senior Citizens......How does your congregation treat them?

  not as good as they use too... but then again they are following the lead of the wts.

  why bother with fellowship when you can plug everyone into the telephone.. one one hand they are pushing fs, on the other they are making so many changes that several of the elderly are getting depressed, especially ever since the may 1, 2007 qfr.

  with the afternoon bs soon yanked, many not allowed to drive at night, and elderships that don't care enough to orchestrate carpools....it is bad..

  How about taking out your checkbook and paying a handyman to take a look around, rather than expect someone else to do it for free?

  I don't see this as about trying to get something for free.........It's about christian caring and loving one's neighbour as oneself. someone earlier said that it depends on the cong and the people involved. and I think that's true, my parents have always gone out of their way to help needy ones in the cong, now they are elderly themselves, and thought they would never be elderly. However they've got a good support network in and out of the borg, but granted they also have each other.

  I've got a nasty taste in my mouth from this thread :(

  i have read a dozen different health books that come to this same conclusion.

  what is milk?

  mammal infants require milk from their own species to grow quickly and start solid food.

  An attempt at reconciliation.

  my cousin - who was also my best friend for 35 years have been involved in an email exchange in recent weeks.

  previous to that he was mostly shunning me.

  without getting into details, he had given me room to explain things, especially as to how i have 'changed' as a result of leaving.

  i like anniversaries - i think it is fascinating to look back at a certain date and remember.. so in honour of my first year on jwd, i look back.... a year ago today, i was sitting in the little shop i owned, waiting for customers that didn't come.

  i was bored and when i am bored i eat, and google.

  i had been googling jehovah's witnesses and lurking a bit on this site and on that particular day, with a pounding heart and sweaty palms, i joined the forum and posted my story.

  Your Favorite 1970's Music Groups/ Singers/ Songs ?

  in the 1970's i was a teenager.

  i wasn't that big into disco- although i enjoyed kc and the sunshine band as well as earth, wind, and fire.

  but my really big love in music was always rock n' roll, blues , stuff like that !

  OMG I just revisited 1974 lol....

  I remember having a sleepover at my friend from the cong's house and going to her neighbours........the time before that she was heavily into bowie and marc bolan, then this time she had the tartan everywhere in her room, the transformation was incredible. I remember being on holiday and playing this song over and over on the juke box .........going all misty eyed now haha
