i offer you a few recent musings, to consider.
i'm not trying to make statements of facts or argue for a set of beliefs, or anything of the sort.
i guess i'd just really like to discuss the subject of the mind without getting entrenched positions on the various subjects surrounding it.
argh
2am, i've had it.........!
g'night

if a tree falls alone in the forest does it make a sound?
if the box is full but no one's listening does it rattle?

I think it's a pandoras box!

too late for me to think clearly!
Many of the key tools of mysticism amount to parlour tricks to distract the rational mind and let intuition and potentially the avoided truth of a situation to shine through. Usually we don't want to hear it because it might not fit in with our plans. It disturbs us, though we have become well practised at subduing it.
define mysticism,.......... if you mean religion, then why would the rational mind need distracted to let intuition allow the truth to shine through? does this mean that religion is irational.

http://ewatchman-exposed.co.uk/research/exposure_1_strange_bedfellows__robert_king_and_donald_burney.html?lastpost=1141249562#msg11 1. james penton who was an elder in lethbridge, alberta canada became apostate in the late 70's, took at least 80 souls with him at that time.
god only knows how many he took through the years?
his book is intitled: "the apocylpse is not delayed because of my stupidity".
His book is supposively to be 100 percent accurate dispite he revised it 4 times and will revise it ( 5th time) next year when Furuli release his book at the end of this year. Lets hope that Jonsson get it right this time. NOT!!!
LMAO, what a joke. the revisions in ray franz's books are to add some up to date info. I would guess the other book would be the same. What's the writers take on the org's "new light"........ad infinitum...
but you know it could be a clever "apostate" trying some reverse psychology, come out with all guns blazing you can turn people off. This way you've planted the seed........
come on, own up..........who is it?!
we had a weekend away a couple of weeks ago.
i took a few classic dvd's along in case the weather turned sour.. so i watched ghost with demi moore, that pottery scene has to be one of my favourite ever..........gives me goosebumps!
but it's not my favourite movie of all time/ i'm embarrassed to admit it, but ok i will, cause i'm with friends!
aww there's some great movies there, makes me want to go out and watch them all again. It's so hard to pick just one isn't it. There are so many on my "best movie" list old and new.
Me too!! EVERY SINGLE TIME it's on TV, I watch it!! And I already OWN the DVD set!! I can recite the dialogue right along with the characters!!
yeah i'm the same. when a great movie is on tv, i'll get sucked in, even when i've got it on dvd and could stick that on commercial free?!
i am amazed how many of these names i recognise.
other scottish apostates recognise names too?.

I left Scotland 24 years ago but recognise a handful of the names. There was a comment from someone in my old congregation too, but didn't know them. There's been a high turnover. I've had family members involved with quick builds, and the atmosphere seems great. shame about the rest of it.
We chuckle at the articles in the Watching the World segments about the Anglican church in England can't sell their places of worship quick enough due to lack of numbers, and yet our wonderful organisation powers ahead
I don't get this..........I thought the org had a negative growth in most developed countries
The list of countries with zero or negative growth in 2004:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canada, Czech, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hongkong, Hugary, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, USA.While there are minor ups and downs, these overall trends in those so-called developed conutries seem to be very stable for close to one decade. If there is any small gain, that can be easily explained by the general population growth.
Now I'm feeling depress, need to go excercise and blow away the cobwebs!
.
anyone seen or heard from crumpet recently, i know she was having a bit of a hard time recently.... matt
Hi Crumpet
I can see both sides, and I guess moderation is the key. I think it would be very unfair to be forced away from something that you enjoy. That's pretty much controlling, there should be a happy medium.
I get it in the ear about the same thing, the amount of time I spend on here. She thinks because I post here I'm gonna go running back to the Dubs any day
I get this too from my husband, he keeps saying, "are you on the Jdub site again"..........No, it's the ex Jdub site........! but it is so easy to spend hours online. I have to limit myself too.
hope you sort things out crumpet, pop in every now and then, miss you in chat!

We took the kids to disneyland and universal studios 3 years ago and went on them all, except disapointed that Jurassic Park ride was closed for renovations.
This January we went to the Gold Coast in Australia, there are 3 themeparks there with rollercoasters.
Superman the ride just opened on boxing day at Movieworld, it was unreal, i went on twice. then i went on lethal weapon and that undid me! my ears were aching from banging side to side on the safety harness. had to go watch the stunt show to recover.
I love rollercoasters
