Yep...but... notice that ALL in the GB show their middle initial and they are all uncommon sounding names.
Can they really all get confused with someone else??
Perhaps it is only an American custom, so why do the non-American ones follow suit?
BTW, being a photographer I always thought Ulysses V. Glass was a cool name, y'know, UV Glass like as a lens filter!

No, it's not a new Awake! cover.
There was a post a couple of days ago showing the GB photos and their names.
It reminded me of a thing that's always bugged me. What's with the middle initial(s)?
Fred W. Franz, Milton G. Henschel, Joseph F.Rutherford, Creflo A. Dollar etc., etc.
Are their names so common they have to differentiate themselves from thousands of others?
Or is it a 'big-noting' way to indicate power and prestige.
If J. Lloyd Barry tried to do that over here he'd get a whack in the chops and told not to be such a pretentious w****r.

The irritating slant to almost everything negative I have seen on Witnesses
by free2beme inwhen i left the witnesses, a person from work gave me a video about the witnesses that his church uses.
i thought it would be interesting, so i set down and watched it.
what i found was another example of one church taking about another, to then counter with points that support their way of thinking.

LOL @ sM*A*S*Hmouth from bigmouth!!!
I find that the more I drink the more outrageous statements I can make. I've often had people believe things I've said when I thought they knew I was pulling their legs. I've particularly got to watch it on here too.

Absolutely, yes. I have had such a gutsful of the dubs that I only have to smell a fundamental type Christian and I feel sick. The 'born again' or charismatic ones seem to put in a lot of effort to knock other religions.
I notice that very few ex-dubs ever go anywhere near another religion after escaping.
BTW, funnily enough, if I come across someone spouting off about what Witnesses believe and they get it wrong, I'm quick to put them right! Ha! What's going on there!?

Im IMPOTENT a new way to beat the system
by Afrancis ina quick example i would like to share with you guys to show the way the elders are carrying on today.
my father a ministeral servant, had an affair with another woman, and is still with this other woman.
(shes not a jw, but a so called "bible study") he lives with her and when consulted by the elders and asked "are you having pre marital relations woth this woman" his reply is "i cant im impotent!

This is crazy. I couldn't drive an elderly sister home at night without a chaperone for fear of being called up to a JC.

Hey - first time here
by kimoko inhello i am megan tis my first time here (hence the title :) ) so i just thought i would introduce myself.. i've never actually never been actually been a jehovahs witness but i first actually got introduced to it in january when i met the amazing kw13 haha :) since then ive looked at books, articles and had a wonderous time on the friday of the 2006 3 day jw convention .
i'm trying to help karl get his mum out of the witnessing, hopefully we can get through its not gonna be easy but we are optimistic.
its been a real difficult time for me trying to understand the witnessing because it went from 16 years of just knowning them as them people who bother you at your door to getting to know alot more and their "morals".

Megan you might enjoy Morrisseys DVD 'Who Put The M in Manchester' it's a live mix of his solo stuff and plenty of Smiths classics. You might just be won over on some newer stuff of his. Live At Earls Court is similar too.

Witness accepts transfusion to save life.
by bigmouth inmy wife, who is studying midwifery, has just finished watching an episode of maternity ward wherein a dub by the name of yvette thompson was having a caesarean due to fibroids among other things.
she told the doctor she wouldn't have a transfusion because of being a jw.
her 'fiance' said he disagreed with her stand but he would intervene if need be.

Blood fractions and the small details of her care weren't aired. The programme gives a broad overview of the variety of events at Yale-New Haven.
Yes Honesty, none of the GB are going to have to deal with blood loss during child birth :)
