The anger and embarrassment when I realized I'd been fooled kept me awake at night.
I'd then get out of bed and go read more on JWD and other sites.
After 3 weeks of this agitated state my wife had to find out what was upsetting me so much and started sneaking looks here.
I told 2 visiting elders that I felt like (with ref. to the UN scandal) my wife had been having an affair with my sworn enemy for 10 years and I knew nothing about it until a complete stranger (The Guardian) broke the news. She then denied the affair and minimised the relationship.

Beards and bald heads
by parlay inwhat do you think about the wts prohibition on beards?
currently in the us, i think a brother can wear a beard, he just won't be used in the congregation.
i see all references in the wt to beards are in a negative light, such as the supreme court upholding a supermarket chains no beards rule.

In the early 80's a super short haircut was a no-no in the Org. It was felt that householders may view it as 'a political statement' meaning that members of the NF, neo-nazis and skinheads had this appearance so it wasn't for dubs.

she said , but i gave my word.. i said it makes me sick that you feel the pressure to do this and not give yourself time.
she is already feeling rundown and beginning to hate going out and it's just the second month!.

That's a very sad tale about your mum purps. She must have been a great mother to have you care about her so much.
Have you ever been in a situation where you'd pledged a certain amount to the congregation for a project and then found that you just didn't have the money because of an unforseen expense or unemployment for example?
How guilty did you feel for not honoring your 'commitment'?

the only reason i can think of right now is that he wrote a letter that rutherford didn't like.. why did rutherford have to make such a big deal about the letter?.

As I read Moyles letter I had to remind myself this occured nearly 70 years ago! It 'sounds' more recent.
Moyle strikes me, if his letter is anything to go by, as one of the good hearted brothers that try and then leave the Org. -
