In view of the cat bite, have you made sure he's vaccinated for FIV ? So-called cat AIDS ? I lost my big black Cole from a cat bite last year. I still get upset about him.

a friend from norway said he is the service overseer in his congregation.

I don't know if Furuli is an elder or not. Someone posted recently that he is something of an irritation to the hierarchy due to his continued defence of the 607 bce dogma. It's not strictly 'sanctioned' by mother.
Furuli is usually forced to admit that his expertise is in languages not history.

Dion was the eldest son of a congregation elder there. He would have been about sixteen and gassed himself in his car at a cemetery in 1999.
As it happens, his Dad was working at this cemetery as a monumental stonemason so the symbolism is there.
The funeral was not held at the KH but at a local yacht club. Dozens of high school friends were there and some soft metal music was played quietly on the p.a. rather than Kingdom Melodies.
A brother assigning seats opined to me that Dion had had a fascination with 'demonic music' and this influence had caused the suicide.
I kept my temper for the day but I recognise an angry act and I still feel angry toward his Mum and Dad whom I knew well. I still think they are good people though.
I don't feel I can/should give any more detail.

i have just started my new course to be a qualified counsellor.
naturaly i am studying this because of my own background and now i want to help others who have had similar strains on their lives.. i know the pressure that the jw organisation puts on its members, so i was wondering, if you dont mind saying so of course, did any of you attend counselling sessions due to the pressures and problems that the jw life brought along?.
i can imagine that the majority of my old congregation (myself, my dad and my brother included) would need some form of counselling or medication in order to remain sane.
I have been a long time inpatient / outpatient. I can recall two women, both daughters of elders who briefly attended some of my cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) groups. I can still remember the look of shame and horror on these fathers faces on seeing me leaving a group these women were attending.
Neither lasted more than about a four or five sessions.
It took me over 15 years before I even vaguely discussed my life as a Witness
i can't count the number of witnesses i've heard, or experiences i've read, who say this.. this is the basis on which they decide to join a high control religion ?.
do you make important decisions based on gut feeling or intuition or do you spend time researching a matter first ?
i've made some dumb decisions based on emotion and had to repent at my leisure.. actually, i was thinking about the mother with a missing child who just knows she's alive somewhere and is coming home.
journey-on, good point. Don't the Amish give their children an opportunity at some point in their teenage years to make an informed decision and then respect that choice ?

Im sure we just can't afford to be wrong on this.....!!! Many of us here have arrived at the conclusion (after much prayer and study) that you can actually afford to be wrong on this.
When you've wound off this mortal coil, that's it. Gone. No more.
