That has to be the worst e-mail response I have ever read. Even for a JW, your brother is really messed up. I hope he gets some mental help.

Lost my best friend (man's best friend)
by Coffee House Girl injust wanted to write a tribute to my best friend whom i lost last week, it was one of the most painful experiences i have ever been through.
i have no children, my puppy was my child.
i got him from a golden retriever rescue organization when he was 2. he was recovering from a car accident, still a bit skiddish, but he chose me to take him home (the foster mom said that he never responded to anyone like he did me).. he was always happy to see me, greet me with a toy in his mouth, he never judged me, never cared whether i was "bad association", he was always there when i needed to smile and remembe that i was not alone in the world.

I am so sorry. I love dogs. I lost both of my dogs a few years ago. It took me several months to get a new dog. I did. You'll know when the time is right. You have a gift with dogs. You're too good with dogs to not bless one with your loving home.

Sept. 15th WT - WT Society Hypocritically Disses " Materialistic " JW's
by flipper inas many of us are aware the wt society has done quite nicely in a material way for themselves.
the sales of properties of the former " bethel " in brooklyn amassed them millions of more $$$$ .
they have relocated into upstate new york and are building like wildmen.

In the congregation I "grew up" mainly in, the elders were the ones with the biggest houses, own businesses, and cars/boats/motorcycles. One of the elders was a doctor. Of course, he got his degree before becoming a JW.

Just like Santa, the Truth isn't real? But, they made me say it was the "Truth" so much as a little kid that I began to totally beleive it was THE Truth.
I spoke with a psychologist about leaving a cult after having been raised in it. He asked me if I felt like a stranger in a strange world? I did and do to this day. We are now on the "forbidden" outside. We don't have a "normal" on which to fall back on. People who were not raised in the Truth, at least have a "before the Truth" idea of the real world to fall back on.
Here's your homework, joyfulfader. Watch the movie, "The Truman Show."

If it's any consolation, I once read a court case written decades ago. It was on segregation. One of the esteemed justices wrote an argument for segregation. it went something like this. "God made Africa for the black man, Asia for the yellow man, and Europe for the white man. Since God segregated, men had the divine right to segregate." Of course, he failed to note that North America was for the red man, and the black, yellow, & white man should have respected that. The justice's opinion (and the old Watchtower) just shows how "men" thought at the time. But, should a devinely inspired, handpicked organization that calls itself the Truth have made such a wild accusation?

What did you eat when you moved out if you didn't know how to cook?
by Aware! ini'm male, in my early twenties, and i don't know how to cook.
if one day i blow my cover i will have to move out and fend for myself.
my question is what frozen meals or quick fix meals do you recommend for a single guy?

Costco. The "Costco Brunch" is the cheapest way to eat. On a Saturday at noon, you can get all the free samples from their carts. You can get inside Costco without a card. Just tell the Costco Bouncer that you are going to the optical department for an appointment. I get waived in without showing my card. Then, you can eat away!
Costco is also great if you are out and about. The pizza, hot dogs, yogurts, at the stand are all super cheap. And, you don't need a card to get inside the food court either.
Veggies & fruits? Find a local stand or farmer's market. Buy only enough for what you think you will eat in 5 days. Don't forego the fruits and veggies. Health is more expensive then food. If not in season, buy frozen at Walmart.
Deli sandwich meat & cheese? I now buy exactly what I am going to eat. 5 sandwhiches this week? That's 5 slices of cheese and 10 slices of meat.
Best advice - get a girlfriend who likes to cook.

WHen I get nervous about thinking on my own as opposed to how I was indoctrinated as a child, I do this:
Step #1) I read my (mental) list of Top Stupid Truths the Watchtower taught. (eg. Black men are going to turn white after Armegheddon).
Step #2) Take deep breath and think to myself, "I can do a better job, and I didn't even include such major things like UN, pedophilia, blood fractions, Generation changes"
Step #3) Straighten my spine, suck in my gut, and say to myself, "You silly Skeeter. You gonna do ok."

Yes, I remember the first time I saw Yosemite Valley. It was awesome. I also liked the Mariposa strand of large trees. California is great. Big Sur - don't forget Big Sur.
