  Disfellowshipped daughter not told of father's death

  my wife was informed by her father that an old jw friend had died so she decided to text his daughter ( who lives abroad & is disfellowshipped ) her condolences.

  immediately the daughter phoned my wife in great anguish as she hadnt been informed that her father had died ( bearing in mind this event had happened 3 days previously.

  ) of course any chance that she might have had for coming over for the funeral had past.. her two brothers are elders and her sister is a regular pioneer but not one of them had thought to let their sister know.

  We had little toy dogs. Fru fru. Subburn, barked alot, small bladder, & pissed like an uncapped oilwell.

  Got me a Golden mix, and he's smart, kind, near us, doesn't pee indoors, and rarely barks loud.

  I'm moving to Bonita Springs, Florida

  it's time for the next chapter in my life.

  on friday, jan. 31, i will be 67 years old.. the contract job i was working ended in july, 2013. it was a plus money wise for my pension and social security.

  i worked for an engineering firm at the same company that i was with for 30 years.. thankfully i never listened to the wtbts about quiting my job to pioneer or other bs stuff.

  Getting bariatric surgery in March!

  after being on a waiting list for three and a half years i've finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel and am going under the knife for a gastric sleeve operation in march.

  i can't tell you how pumped i am because i'll finally be able to re-take my life after being severely overweight for several years.

  i gained a ton of weight after being put on meds for bipolar disorder and it made exercising a painful chore.

  I'm happy for you. Please keep us posted on your progress.

  What are your plans before the surgery? I ask because someone I know is looking into this, and is having to show the doctors that she is exercising and eating better before the surgery. She also has some sleep apnea & heart issues that she's trying to control better before she goes forward.

  my ex-wife got married in december last year.

  so our visting arrangement with my children has changed.

  there was a misunderstanding in our visiting arrangment, we agreed on that they would spend the weekends (once in two weeks) with me they would stay until sunday.

  First, get your attorney. Second, is the agreement in writing? If so, then you should have the children unless something terrible happens and you can't take care of them. Third, have activities planned with your children so it's impossible for her to pick them up.

  And finally, show your ex-wife your concerns about how the the imperfect men inside the WTS who hide pedophiles who are also imperfect men, the incidents that have occurred. In particular, I am thinking about the many pedophiles that attached themselves to single, JW women because of the children. I am also thinking of the many JWs who molested kids during "rides" when their parents were not there. Show her newspaper and court reports. Silentlambs and watchtowerdocuments. will make it quicker research for you. Don't bash her religion, but just set it very clear that you have legitimate concerns about the children being with any other JW, but her.

  Does Anyone Feel the Ministerial School Helped Them?

  as a born-in, i was eager to join the ministry school.

  my cousins were also born-in but lived in different states.

  there was keen competition to see who could do mature things, such as baptism (my mom said when i was 35) and ministry school.

  I Am Home Today With A Lousy Back Ache

  my lower back went out again.

  typically, once every 9 months, i get a terrible spasm that can last for days.

  right now, i am icing it but i am so sore!

  I hurt my back a while ago. i had to do everything for it, as i needed it fixed fast. I could not bend over to pick up a pencil without shooting pain going over my hip. I read that it could be a slipped disk or a pulled butt.

  I used Salonpas patches. You can't take any aspirin, blood thinners, etc. It has that in the patch. Only use the recommended patch number, or you'll get too much pain relief.

  I slept in my recliner for two nights. My PT neighbor told me to do this. It helped wonders.

  I did alot of stretching. Yoga. Cat, cobra, twists. Stretching of the spine. As much as I could, and careful not to overdo it. Google yoga for back pain.

  Espom salt baths. Heating pad. I know, ice is what they say. But, I really wanted heat. Heat felt good.

  In two days, I was 90% better.
