2014 increase in Memorial Partakers to 14,121

i have updated the article at memorial partakers with the figures released for 2014. no surprises here, it has risen yet again, this time by 6% over last year, and is now 14,121.. .

Mental imbalance . . . the WTS says the wine & crackers partakers are cracker crazy! Well, in the KH, I thought the partakers I knew were a few short of a full deck . . . . . I didn't need the WTS to put it in print. But, thank you to the writing department for verifying my observance. And, after seeing the GB speak of late, I assume that even the partakers at the top are also a few short of a full deck.

Should I even bother telling someone what I think of their parenting . . . .any advice?

the situation: a neighbor's child and mine have played together for 8 years.

her mother is a single parent, and a probable narcissist.

loves designer clothes, bentleys, money, will not date a regular joe or even a rich man who doesn't drive the right car, wear the right clothes, etc.

Thanks. That's what I thought.

My spouse and I are also going to really try to lose the mother. We never go over to her house, but she shows up at our doorstep "to say, "Hi." Ends up she comes in then asks to go out back for a smoke, and it's expected we come out with her. She then talks and is one of those "hard to get rid of" people. Unfortunately, our living room is right by the front door, so it's extra hard to 'not be at home."

Loves designer clothes, Bentleys, money, will not date a regular Joe or even a rich man who doesn't drive the right car, wear the right clothes, etc. Every holiday, she goes to the nearest big city to party with her very rich friends. They drive the right car, live in the right subdivision. Her very rich friends like to party, and she brings the 13 year old girl with her. Now, the 13 year old girl thinks it's fun to go in her godparent's very nice car, being driven faster than twice the legal limit, be offered alcohol at the nicest private clubs, and see her mom & godparents get wasted. She says, "It's fun!" The girl was with me yesterday, bragging about the "high life." My kid is not impressed and told the girl it was being stupid. Last year, I told the single parent that she shouldn't party in front of her daughter, and they needed to be wearing their seatbelt (they don't) when driving with the rich godparents because expensive cars crash too. Last year, the parent rented a limo. I didn't go, but the single mom proceeded to get drunk.

I can see this girl neighbor becoming a heavy drinker/partier. Thankfully, my kid is wanting to play with other kids. I am going to steer my daughter away from this family. I am fed up. Do I say anything to the single mom, or is it just all wasted words?

i guess 99.9 % of ex-jw's here could have predicted as much .

armageddon didn't happen in 1914. it didn't happen in 1925. it didn't happen in 1975. and it did not happen in 2014. since the wt society first predicted a world's end when their organization started in 1879 - 126 years have passed which according to any dictionary in any human language 126 years comprises of 4 separate generations each totaling 30 years each.

plus 6 years into a 5th generation.

"too many people are being held hostage or massacred" in nigeria, he added.

pope francis also urged dialogue between israelis and palestinians and condemned taliban attacks in pakistan.. tens of thousands of people turned out on st peter's square to hear the argentine pope deliver his annual message.. he said christians in iraq and syria had endured conflict for too long, and "together with those belonging to other ethnic and religious groups, are suffering a brutal persecution".. "may christmas bring them hope, as indeed also to the many displaced persons, exiles and refugees, children, adults and elderly, from this region and from the whole world," the pope said.. .

******and, what did the governing body talk about when they addressed the world of jehovah's witnesses earlier this month?

The Catholics follow the birth control ban, like the JWs follow the blood ban? But, many JWs don't follow the blood ban, carry double lives, etc. Talk with doctors, and many JWs get blood, but do it quietly. The Catholic church permits dissension. The Society does not. Followers have to live double lives, or lose their family & friends through shunning.

Greetings, yet have problems

i'm married, have a wonderful, but "unbelieving" wife.

i have three kids, all of whom are honor students and very responsible.. now my dilemma: none of my kids are the least bit interested in being jw's.

i took them all to meetings even as babies without the help of my wife or anyone else in the congregation.

Welcome Dubby to the next part of your spiritual journey.

The afterlife and higher beings are unknown to this world. There is a book, call the Bible that some follow. There are other religions that try to explain the unknown. What I can tell you is that if anyone professes to know the exact Truth about the Unknown, how can they? The FDS tries to do it by professing that they are God's True Channel, but how can they have changed their doctrine so much in so few years? The Light* scripture is not from a chapter on prophecy, but a book on proverbs of convenient sayings to live's many experiences. There is a "sure feeling" when you think the FDS is the Truth, and that gives comfort to those who stay in the religion. But, there is a very uneasy feeling that happens when you realize that the FDS may not have the absolute Truth, to which it demands much sacrifice on the part of its adherents.

I will say that you are very fortunate to have children and a wife who are probably going to champion your not belonging to the Truth. Your relationships with them are about to get alot stronger and be based on unconditional love. Unconditional love is something completely lacking in the entire structure of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
