The worst sing better than me. I'm in awe of the show. I'd give my right nut to be Katherine, or to hear her sing. Same with Paris, and Mandissa, and Pickler. They guys are great too. I never vote as I can't choose. They are all just great, in their own way.

The man in the hospital right now was using a helmet, as was my pilot friend. We were not made with an exoskeleton, so protection will help...some. But any bike at 50+ mph is downright deadly, especially against a 2,000 pound SUV rolling over it.
I guess I'm jaded as I've seen the victims, and heard their spouse's terror. No, you will not find my fat butt on the back on a bike. It's just not "fun" to me. I

p.s. I would ride a bike in an emergency and no other option exists....or if it was in the islands where tourists are regulated to mopeds. But, here in the US, no way.

Who do you love more?
by serendipity inmy uncle ocasionally complains about how my aunt loves her adult children more than him because she's always thinking about them, worrying about them and reaching out to them.
i think that's a surprising viewpoint because i thought that most mothers (and many fathers) love their children above all others.. do you think that's true?
should a parent love their children more than the spouse (or significant other)?
-
skeeter1
You love your spouse in a different way than your children.
When a spouse hits, cheats, tells me "I don't love you", etc....it's over. = Conditional Love
When a child hits, cheats, tells me "I don't love you", etc....I understand that she is tired, angry, needs more help. = UNCONDITIONAL Love
There's a country song that sums up how we love our children, and how the true "Jehovah" (not the Watchtower Society version) loves us....
"It's a love without end, amen."

Watch out for getting dehydrated. It's very important that you can keep your water levels up. If you can't keep down water, go directly to your doctor. He may have to hospitalize you & give you IVs.
This sickness will probably go away at 12 weeks. If it lasts into the 2nd semester, ask your doctor about 1/2 tabled of unisom mixed with B6, once a day. He may give it to you earlier. It mimics a drug that's been used in Europe for years.
*********************************************************
Unisom (doxylamine) and vitamin B6 for morning sickness
If vitamin B 6 alone doesn't relieve your morning sickness, talk to your health professional about adding doxylamine, a nonprescription antihistamine marketed as 25 mg Unisom Night-Time Sleep-Aid Tablets. Doxylamine is the most proven, safe, and effective medication available for reducing nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. 1
Vitamin B 6 and doxylamine was prescribed as Bendectin in the U.S. until 1983, when it was taken off of the market; it has continued to be available in Canada as Dilectin. Although Bendectin was once thought to cause fetal problems, this medication is now considered to have one of the best safety profiles of all medications given during pregnancy, based on the tens of millions of women treated since 1956 with no known fetal effects. 2, 3
Talk to your health professional about the right doxylamine dosage for you.
Note: Avoid confusing Unisom Tablets with Unisom SleepGels, which contain a different medication.

Your wife is right.
If you can afford a bike, buy $500k in life insurance and disability insurance too.
Also, visit a prosthetic store (fake arms, fake legs). Over 90% of those who get a prosthesis are motorcycle accident victims.
I currently know of one man who is right now in the hospital, ICU to be exact, on a breathing tube, multiple rib fractures, collapsed lung, in a drug induced coma as he's trying to rip out his breathing tubes. He's expected to be in for 3 months, if he does not die.
Have a good friend who is a very careful pilot, like major airplanes. He decided to get a bike, even went to safety school. Within 7 days of the safety school instructor calling him the best, safest driver...his bike slid on some wet leaves at 35 mph....broken ribs, collapsed lung, head concussions, 8 weeks in a chair.
Had a group of friends who hit 40. Each bought a bike, and decided to "enjoy" life. Eventually, one by one, each had an accident (many caused not by their own fault but by dumb women in an SUV). Eventualy, each got rid of their bike.
If you STILL insist on riding a "donor-mobile", know the risks associated with riding a bike, get insurance so your wife's next husband can live in a comfortable lifestyle, and WEAR A HELMET. States with no helmet laws, such as Florida, are gathering the statistics of increased death & brain injuries caused.
Me, I'll stick with a horse. Much safer (even if Christopher Reeves died). Save a horse, ride a cowboy, y'all.

Mandatory/highly encouraged donations. Perhaps a "plate" collection.
And, a new blood brochure & WT, perhaps one that does not misrepresent facts & discusses hemoglobin products.

Very good on your past few years...for those who are reading this & are going on 18... I wish someone could have given me this advice when I was 18 and wanted out of my JW family....Here are some "Facts of Life" Get a job(s).
Move in with a reliable roommate(s) (same sex) to save on bills. Buy your furniture at Goodwill, Salvation Army, the newspaper (for new mattress).
Do NOT get a VISA/MC. Those companies are praying on young people like you, and will give you alot of credit. Learn about credit card debt. Being late on a few payments will scar you for 7 years. Being bankrupt is devasting. (everyone, please back me up on this one).
OK to get US government backed student loans. Low interest rates. As long as you study something that you love, you will probably make enough money to pay it back. Ok to get a small carpayment - one that is less than 10% of your take-home pay.
Read the book "Maiden Voyage" (Trust me on this one).
Date alot, and use reliable birth control. Nothing worse than having to move back in with the JW parents with a kid in tow from your apostacy days....
Do NOT date anyone married, on drugs, who drinks alot, or has a DUI. All of these people will use & abuse you more than the Society ever did.
Do NOT get a DUI. It's about $8,000 between increased insurance rates & court fees (and that's for the 1st offense). Also, you'll have alot harder time becoming qualified to work in a number of jobs, including driver, lawyer, nurse, doctor, pharmacist.
Get into college. Learn something you'd LOVE to do for the rest of your life. If you like plants, study them & open a nursery/landscaping business. If you like animals, study them & be a vet/dog clipper/etc. If you want to save the planet, become a scientist (like a hydrogeologist who examines/cleans up toxic waste dumps).
I grew up JW, and sympathize with wanting to be "free". But, remember the words of a famous, though now dead, rocker named Janis Joplin, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose." Being 18, you're about to start taking on responsibilities...such as a rent payment, food payments, college. Adulthood is NOT about freedom, it's about mastering responsibilities. Prove to your family that you can make it.

Can you believe this?
by pratt1 inif you can get hold of the sunday star ledger - new jersey - union edition please read the article entitled " murder on tape evokes more tears.
" page 1. this murder stunned many in the nj area when it happened back in march of 1996.. i'll paraphrase the details.. kathleen weinstein was carjacked for her car by a 16 year old man.
during the assualt kathleen turned on a tape recorder in her coat and on tape you could hear her pleading for her life, she talks about her children and her job as a special ed teacher all in hopes of persuading her attacker to just take her car but to leave her unharmed.

On a personal note, I grew up JW and made stories to my "worldly" friends about my "Christmas" and "Birthday" presents which I never received. Yes, I had fantasies of having holidays, Easter egg hunts, Christmas Eve, birthday parties, etc. How tragic this story is.
On a legal note, the tape says it all....and what about the physcial evidence of the murder scene? While I have not read the case, it seems silly that the JW mom sleeping with her murderer son's lawyer was enough to overcome the physical evidence and voice data. I "bet" anyone here a shrimp dinner that this "boy" is still convicted at retrial. The lawyer is wishing he hadn't slept with the mom, bet there is an inquiry into his bar license.

I would like to be born in about 25 years from now. I'd like to see the next century. I want to know if we ever make it to Mars, solve diseases, feed the hungry, generally "get it right".....
or if we just continue to destroy this earth, enslave children, the JWs are still brainwashing people, the radical religions (whatever group) take over the earth, etc.
