Middle School Incident today

my middle schooler came home to tell me that the police officer assigned to the school arrested a 6th grade girl.

the rumors (from those who knew her and were in the bathroom with her) were that she was cutting herself and said that her family didn't love her.

she had drugs and birth control.

My middle schooler came home to tell me that the police officer assigned to the school arrested a 6th grade girl. The rumors (from those who knew her and were in the bathroom with her) were that she was cutting herself and said that her family didn't love her. She had drugs and birth control. This is two days before school lets out for the Holidays.

We discussed the incident, some. I don't know exactly what to say. What I did say was that cutting is an abnormal behavior and is a sign that something is seriously wrong in this girl's life. She could be abused, depressed, or mentally ill. I said that cutters have scars for life. I said that I don't know why this girl does it; but sometimes it's a way to release the pain inside or to take control. I kept repeating that if a child has cutting scars, to report it to the counselors. The psychologists can help the child.

I heard that the people at Bethel couldn't talk about their daily activities. Everything they actually "do" in their job is confidential, not only between outsiders but between departments. What "family" doesn't ask someone, "How was your day?" I mean, I "know" what my kids are doing and facing. Gripes, triumphs, raises, promotions, etc. That's what family is for - a venting place where the other members put you back together so you can go at it another day.

Remember, your mother and father, especially if they are Jehovah's witnesses, are very much interested in you. There is a natural family bond of love. They would like to hear from you once in a while. Why not write your mother and father once a week. There are many things that you can write them aboutyour experiences in the field service, your congregational meetings, experiences related to the Bethel family by travelling representatives, and personal activities, aside from the details about work that you handle at Bethel. They spent a lot of time with you and cared for you daily before you came to Bethel. They miss you. A letter will help them.

Details about the individual work assigned to you as a member of the family are confidential. What you are given to do is your business. You are requested not to communicate information from your department to another department. If we wanted you to know the details of the other persons' work we would have assigned that work to you. Married couples serving in different departments should not discuss confidential details of their work when at home. If you have problems, take them up with the elder in charge. The same is true concerning roommates. Confidential Society matters received in the mail should be handled confidentially. Information to be announced generally will be presented by the one in charge of the home or the factory. If you are to know what is going on in other departments, you will be told through the proper overseer.

Mass murders don't have empathy for their victims. Child molesters don't have empathy for their victims either.

Think to the blood policy, it's changes, and lies within it, and the thousands hurt by it. Think of the policies that promote pedophilian within the Organization, and the thousands hurt by it.

Now, reread the first sentance. Add to it that the JWs think the innocent children are just asleep and will awake in a perfect world. Oh, their worldly parents may be dead and gone, but these kids are saved to now live with a world of only JWs. Everyone worldly is going to be a victim of Jehovah; or so the WTS says. THe WTS can't feel empathy for worldly people. It doesn't know how.

I was going to a mega-CHristian church when 9/11 happened. The service was packed there also, and the preacher tried to explain why God does nothing and whether God was a rationale, loving God and why Jesus wasn't like his Father. At least, he tried to explain and it was a warm speech. But, it fell short and I lost alot of hope in the God of Abraham that day.

they had been before several times and know that i'm a pretty devout catholic, so i'm sure they were just swinging by to get more time for the card.. well, this time the opening line was about the tragedy in ct. i mean, really?

you're going to try to get converts by capitalizing on this tragedy?

I revise. Autistic children can't relate WELL to other people and or commicate WELL with them.

Sure, there are some who can use an IPAD, a horse, a dog, or a puppet for communication medium. But, it's not the same. THere is a barrier in their communication. You are right, as it's a spectrum. Alot of folks in silicon valley have autism. I was a math major in college for some time, and I 'bet' some of them had it too. They didn't blow anyone up, and most will not. But, they do and can become violent and not willing to adapt to changes.

At 20 years old, there are other mental disorders that could have been developing too. And, he could have had some type of defiant disorder. The psychologists in my relative's case keep asking whether or not he's violent . . . .

Depending on where they are on the spectrum, autistic children can't relate to other people and/or communicate with them. It's nuerological, but so is ADHD. It manifests itself, not in a skin rash, but in their interactions with others.

Also, he could have defiant disorders, along with his autism. That is what I read.

I have lived with an alcoholic, and I wouldn't have alcohol in the house or drink in front of him. I don't have a problem with my alcohol, but he would go 'to town.' I think kids with a mental illness like autism have no right to play violent video games. I have a relative who is alot like this kid, and found an article to be impressive. I will post on a sep. thread.
