Two Questions
by Yerusalyim ini have two questions, mostly for commited christians, though i'm sure somehow, that others will reply too.. 1) does prayer change god or his mind?.
2) if not, why pray?.
i have my own opinion on the subject, but i may be adjusting my understanding of god.. have fun!.

Forgiveness
by Introspection inthis quote could have gone in another forum, but i'm hoping you can add a quote from caroline myss, stephen... "without forgiveness human society and existence are impossible.
we are forever hurting one another, forever stepping on one another's toes.
so we have to forgive and be forgiven or else we cannot go on living full lives.

Intro-I'm sure my baby brother will have a great quote for
you from Myss in the morning . Something about letting your spirit go and calling it back, He sure knows a lot about her stuff.
I would just like to add from personal experience and observations that the forgiver if they truely forgive get a
chance to begin again too. Forgiveness is really a greater
experience for the wronged person because now they can
go and live the rest of there life instead of dwelling in the past
and the pain. -

Is it Gospel?
by ISP inthe may 15 2000 watchtower page 4 indicated that scholars at the jesus seminar had concluded that 82% of all the words attributed to jesus in the gospels were not authentic but 'derived from later tradition'.. it is difficult to say for yourself but i do find it remarkable that pauls letters do not contain any references to jesus' life, history or more importantly his teachings.
the sermon the mount, lords prayer or the golden rule etc.
do not get a mention in his words to fledgling congregations.

Jesus smacked Paul upside the head. Paul realized
when he picked himself off the floor that KING of the JEWS
had risen from the dead. Yes Jesus the Christ was alive
and the LORD told him to tell others. -

i am new
by knight ini have read the various posts here an i have my own story to tell i amstill a witness not as active as i used to be but stillfaithful i think the main problem that jws have is that they put c.o's m.s's elders and the like on pedestals and when you do that you set yourself up for a letdown and when that person does something you dont think is right you are letdown but one should not let this block his/her relationship with jehovah.

believe HE did please show me. Sorry Chris they changed

The apostles were comanded to preach the "GOOD NEWS".
Which was what? That Jesus the Christ had risen. If not then
there would be no "good news". Paul said are faith would be
in vain if not for" that good news"
?- Who was the first to preach the "GOOD NEWS" -

Happy; I'm back hope you don't mind, I like this coffee shop.
Terraly-if childen can't read how can they investigate the truth,
if they can't add how will they be able to weigh one side vs
the other,
if they can't write how do they tell others of what they found.
I don't see any contradiction here.
You'll have to explain your point better. -

Kingdom Melodies Cassette #990
by kimberly inalright, this is one of those what was your favourite questions:.
when you were a witness (or even if youre still reluctantly attached like me), did you have a favourite kingdom melody (why couldnt they just be called hymns by the way)?.
i remember thinking they were ok as a young child, but that was until i got to secondary school and heard the other kids singing proper hymns in assembly, while i had to stand outside.

I hope I got the line right
"Fear not those who can kill the body but not the soul".
It's an old song in the 70,s
I don't think they sing it anymore even though it was
based on a scripture.
Don't think it would have anything to do with that 'soul'
thing would it? -
