suzie orman is one of the top rated financial guru's.
i believe she's topped dave ramsey and a few other of the big guys.
in her latest interview, she at least had the guts to say how she felt - good for her!

information on how to download the book apostles of denial (1970) by edmond c. gruss will be given at the end of this post.
before this, however, id like to present this introduction:.
apostles of denial a personal recollection and a tribute.
Great job!
Thank you!
illowy, a jw friend and former (very recent) elder that i have known for many, many years, was banned from jwd after a run-in with ozziepost, it seems, over a discussion about the satanic ritual abuse person who appeared on the ex-jw radio program.
a lot of us had serious issues with her statements and general mental health, and questioned her being the subject of a serious interview as a former jw.
illowy, it seems, suffered most for his opinions about it.. since then illowy was able to post briefly on this new site, but can no longer post on here.
Illowy helped me with an Our Kingdom Ministry a couple of months ago.
Thank you, Illowy!
i've not been on here for a while, so forgive me if it's been mentioned before... http://www.a2z.org/wtarchive/archive.htm.
it has pdf downloads of documents and literature throughout the years including documents that preceded the wt.. subject headings include:.
historical influences.

Thank you !
today, i have made available through my website, www.watchtowerdocuments.com, an e-document containing the handwritten watch tower corporation charter, plus the following material as explained on my website.
"on december 13, 1884, charles taze russell and his wife, maria f. russell, founded a corporation in pennsylvania which they named, zions watch tower tract society.
the charter for that corporation was amended in 1896 changing the name to watch tower bible and tract society.
They look good.
Why the "copyright watermark"?
IMO, it detracts from the "authentic feel" of the documents ....but shouldn't be a problem for my purposes.
Thank you for making the documents available.
with the upcoming closure of this board comes this question:.
where will those who are into wt history and older documents go?
i, personally, would prefer to only have to check one board as my time is quite limited.
www.watchtowerwiki.org/downloads
If somebody has a web server were they would like me to set this up...
I think a big problem with permanent server(s) is copyright issues.
Re-Examine was, I think, located in another country.
The "file hosting as needed" approach is less than desirable as the links expire, etc.
However, it does offer distance from the poster and any copyright issues.

I agree there should be some attempt at organization.
I am able to help support a new, permanent home.
Re-examine.org was great. In the end, though, there were problems...not certain exactly what.
Perhaps the best solution is what we currently have....posting links to fileshare sights as needed and when needed?
Will support whatever is decided.

im doing a bit of research for an academic paper on shunning and am interested in your response to any or all of these questions.. please think back to when you were a jw (if necessary) or to other jws you knew.. 1) does shunning work?
(for example, does it bring sinners to their senses?
does it keep the congregation clean?

I think there are just too many variables to know if shunning changes the course of the one shunned.
Agreed. It is clearly a "case by case" impact. That's why a qualitative approach is useful in analyzing shunning. It would be great to have some quantitative data (X number were shunned and Y number returned, etc.).
One impact seems to be the driving of individuals underground and into double lives. As you say, the fear is a driver in whatever the impact.
Thank you for your observations.
