That part about catching them when they are sick or dealing with the death of someone close is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time.
It reminds me of vultures hovering around a carcass.

by jgnat injust wondering, for other "unbelieving mates" who visit this site, how many of you fielded spousal interference this week?
for those of you who don't keep up on wt news any more, the november issue of the kingdom ministry contained the above titled article, with a few "helpful suggestions".
i give credit to my hubby that he respected my stand before and after the meeting, even as he harbored a faint hope that the sainted words of the kingdom ministry would reach out and knock me to my "senses".. in summary, the "suggestions" include patience, don't bring up religious arguments, show through your actions and friendliness that the "unbelieving mate"'s prejudices are unfounded, and if all else fails, get them when facing health problems or other crises.. the worst i fielded was directly after the meeting, when hubby asked me what it would take to join the watchtower society.

Just thinking, I used to either daydram or play the "watch the clock" game during meetings. I would try to not look at the clock for fives minutes. If I made it longer than five minutes, I added those minutes to the next time I could look at the clock without a penalty (this was all in my mind). I had to keep my mind busy to pass the time. It's weird.
If I have trouble sleeping, sometimes I do math in my head.

Bristol Palin and her typical black & white right-wing / religious mindset
by Simon inso, bristol palin is through to the final on dancing with the stars even though it's obvious to everyone with half a brain that she doesn't deserve to be based on her dancing.
she's there simply because the obsessive palin fundies are voting for her.. i thought it was interesting listening to her describe people who think she shouldn't be there as "the haters".. what black and white thinking and typical of the religious / right-wing mentality.
people can't have an opinion that is based on reality and see that better dancers were voted off while she stayed way past her skill level warranted.

Lee, I've noticed this too. My mind RACES most of the time. It depends on what's going on, if it's not a stressful time I can just daydream, but I'm ALWAYS thinking if I'm conscious.
I'm always thinking something. Sometimes I get so deep in my thinking that I don't even hear what's going on around me. Mr. Dinah calls that "dingy" I call it "selective hearing"

Being a Bama fan, I'm watching with keen interest. Newton is a GREAT player no question, but if he was paid that's against the rules. I hate the kid got caught up in all this. It was reported he was having to leave Florida because of some academic violations.
Of course, I won't shed a tear if Auburn has to vacate the season.
