China selling cardboard as a snack!!!
by sammielee24 inchina is selling hunks of cardboard off the street, seasoned with msg, as a snack!
this might be over in beijing but isn't anyone worried about what the heck is still getting into this country or if any of the 'snacks' we've aready eaten have been nothing but some fibre scraped off the sidewalk, slipped into plastic bags and sold as 'tasty treats'???

Food/consumables have only been regulated in this country in the last century. Slaughter houses were (and I suspect often still are) filthy. We put heroin and laudanum in cough syrup. Lots of "street vendors" were selling garbage by the name of "tonic". Cocaine in soda pop. Thalidomide prescribed to pregnant women as late as the 1960's. It's always about money ultimately. China is slowly but very surely becoming capitalistic, they will eventually figure out regulation. They won't be able to compete in the world economy if they don't. I rode over on the plane to Beijing last year, with a man whose job was to teach business students the economic importance of being environmentally sound. Oddly enough for a country as old as they are, in some ways, they are very young.

Bottom line - Gun ownership carries with it a huge responsibility. But I feel that it should be up to the individual to decide if they want to take it on.
Apparently the state of VA agrees with you, and Mr. Cho felt he was ready for that particular responsibility.

Oddly enough Sunnyvale California has the same rating for crime (according to 1/07 reports in Sperlings Best Places) as Kennesaw. The population for Sunnyvale however is 4 times that of Kennesaw.
