i knew what i wrote and have written in the past would trigger a lot of different things in a lot of different people.
sometimes the hardest thing to accept is that what someone says is usually true, even if it's just for them.. as a person grows and learns, they draw conclusions about a great many things, from who god is to what kind of car is the best ever made.
it oversimplifies things, saying it like that, but at the same time, maybe it is perfect.
For example, if 'you' believe in god, then god exists...................for you.
If 'I' don't believe in god, then god doesnt exist.......................for me.
But Searcher, one of those points of view is TRUE. There is a reality. There's just no way to prove it.

and they are not religious issues for war and hunger and ignorance and despair know no religious barriers.. but because i am a catholic, and no catholic has ever been elected president, the real issues in this campaign have been obscured perhaps deliberately, in some quarters less responsible than this.

The Bible says in several places that homosexual relationships are wrong. Because it does, very few homosexuals care too much for the Bible. Then lacking any divine moral code they usually end up living their lives by their own "If it feels good do it" moral code
You know what, I think the bible is about as divine as The Lord of the Rings. But I have a strict set of morals. Values. Beliefs. And I'm tired of hearing that if I don't believe in the bible, I have no morals. Bullshit.

Again, I have to believe that there are many more issues to think about when deciding on the person who will represent this country. I would also hope that they base their decisions on reliable information gathered, not religious beliefs.
