I won't vouch for the validity of this story, I don't care if it's true or not. What gets me is how these emails circulate around of the greatness of Jehovah and his orginazation. Yet it is the most mundane and minor things that they boast about.
Another thing, why would the GB be interested in an operations issue when it's clearly not a spiritual issue? Wasn't that a big deal a few years ago when the GB would no longer be part of the legal corporation so they could focus more on the preaching work. If I was still a JW, that would be something I would silently ask myself.
But now I don't care, not a big deal to me anymore. -

Here is a story told at the annual meeting……
You know how the society has been cutting costs, part time help, cutting back on cd;s selling property etc... well, you know the famous WATCHTOWER READ GODS WORD DAILY " sign is on one side of the place,,,, well ,,, on the other side is a sign but also a clock which is lit at night! Well the G.B, decided that it cost too much in electricity so they decided to turn it off! Now remember, this has been lit since forever as far as bethel goes. Well they got inundated with phone calls and Emails telling them that the clock was dark and the lights were out, The brothers would politely answer that yes they understood but that they are cutting costs so decided to turn it off. WELL..... the MAYORS office eventually phoned and said that THEY were inundated with calls objecting to the clock being turned off , so when the brothers told them about the cost cutting the mayor said....." We will have a man come over and put a meter on that side and the City will pay for it!!!! .........WOW talk about a LANDMARK!!!!
JEHOVAH is amazing and truly awe inspiring!!!
***I swear, a GB member could fart and that is evidence to the goodness of Jehovah. Maybe someone needs to call the mayor and explain to him what type of org he's fronting their electric bill for. -

Newb Introduction....
by KenseiShimonzu ini'd like to formally introduce myself to everyone here,as the title,and my post count reflects...i'm new around here although i think i may have stumbled across the site sometime before i decided to stop going down there at all,because it looks very familiar,i could have sworn i read an article about jw's real involvement in the holocaust on here at some time.
i've seen some very interesting topics hereabouts,as well as point of views,just wish i would have found you guys sooner so that i could have avoided that whole "thing" down there.
but anyways,this is my formal "hello" to everyone,and hope we can be friends.
