Helloooooo All, I haven't been on this board for a long time, I want to wish everyone good health and happiness with confidence as you continue in your recovery from the abuse and strong hold of the jehovah witness cult. Hopefully, what you each take from the experiences of others who add to these discussions will help you grow as the person God meant for you to be. I will be forever grateful to these many discussions and information made available to myself and most importantly: my best friend, ARWEN, who is now a full fledged EX-JW ........ fully recovered and is enjoying life being the good and caring person she is,,,,, and able to make her own decisions without guilt. Nearly Lost my Son Yesterday
by XJW4EVR ini got a call from the ex, she was in tears, and said that our son was struck by car while riding his bike to work.
when i got to the er, he was lying there in the bed.
he was bruised & scratched.

I am so glad he is going to have a full recovery. I am always surprised at the number of people who come into the emergency department and state they have driven themselves and are obviously under the influence of alcohol or drugs. But I am also surprised at the number of patients that come to emergency that have not worn a helmut in a bike accident or have not buckled their seatbelts in a car accident. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye. I went to a wake yesterday for a lady who died on her 51st birthday after being struck by a speeding van 3 weeks earlier. Makes ya want to hug your kids and family a little more eh?

by meljon injust spoke with the mayor of our town about a notice in this mornings paper, re the jws are applying to build a hall in our community,,,,,,,,, would anyone care to comment on what they would say at this meeting?
i mentioned to him that it is a cult and i do not want it in our town.
he admitted he didnt know much about the jws and their beliefs and i told him about the abuse and actions being handled by the elders and not the police and also the non government views.

GUESS what kingdom hall is NOT being built in MY neigborhood next to our new town hall? . Yep, If ya'll remember the post about my inquiring about what to do or say at the town meeting when they wanted to re-zone a prime piece of property for institutional use in order for the jehovahs witnesses to build a new kingdom hall in my neighborhood. I wish to thank all who put in their 2 cents worth, it all added up and I brought it to the attention of our neighbors and at the town meetings about the increased traffic and no one had any idea about the tax issue. Most people don't know that they dont have to pay taxes. NOW they are building on a little street BEHIND a Sobeys store. It will be totally hidden from view. hahahhahahahahaha..... Sorry... I couldnt help that,,,,, but I feel great about it. thanks all.........

Harassed about filling out new blood card...
by slimboyfat inan elder in my congregation asked me again yesterday, for about the tenth time, whether i have filled out my new blood card yet - is this normal?
it is getting embarrassing as i just keep saying i have not got round to it yet.
i am getting the feeling that it is being used as a sort of loyalty test.

NO medical records department would EVER let any family members let alone jws access to a patients files, it is between doctor and patient, doesn't matter what paper they show up with signed by patient. What are they gonna say? Just wanted to look at his / her file? The jws are giving themselves too much credit for thinking people pay all this attention to them and their sillyness........

I want a "No Blood Card"!
by Bee inok, first off, let me make it clear that i'm no baptized jehovah's witness.
i studied for about 2 1/2 years, and was a publisher for about half the time.
i don't attend meetings, because..well.... i haven't yet summoned enough courage to ask forgiveness for my many wrong-doings.

This is all very amusing, I have been having a good laugh at these posts. I shall add my 2 cents worth...... never was a jw --- never wanna be !BUT picture yourself in a major trauma........... arrive at emergency room............ paramedics and nursing staff and emergency room doctors and respiratory technicians are doing everything to sustain life in your broken body,,,,,,,,, they are not giving any thought as to what paper is in your wallet with big red letters saying No Blood,,,,,,,,,,and no one is going to look for it,,,,,,,,,, they are too busy trying to get your heart pumping and rushing you to the OR to find and repair the big bleed in you belly. They probably dont even know your name yet, events happen really fast in a trauma situation. I work in a busy emergency department and it is not the same as on TV ! Most jws have received blood if needed to sustain life and dont tell about it. Never surprises any emergency staff........

I disassociated myself today....June 8, 2006
by arwen ini wrote a letter to some personal friends in the congregation and enclosed the letter from the un.
i also wrote a short disassociation letter to four elders and enclosed the un letter as well.
i delivered them to the mailboxes and also mailed a couple.

You've got mail ! There is a new mail service in our town, it is similar to a "Thelma and Louise type event". Arwen finally put the finishing touches on her disassociation letters and I instructed her to "get in the car". Off we went in MY car (her car would be recognized ) with her driving and me with one foot hanging out of the car ready to run to the next house and deliver the LETTER to the next mailbox. This was all the while hoping no one would see me dropping something in their mailbox and opening the door, but I would have said " I was just in the neighborhood and would like to share this contents of this envelope with you!" She parked a couple of houses away from impending recipient of the envelope and I scooted across lawns and ducked behind trees to make my delivery. One was delivered at a very busy place of business, I sauntered in and stuck the envelope by the cash register and sauntered out. The kingdom hall was the recipient of two envelopes and although there were cars in the parking lot, I managed to drop the letters into the mailbox. .We were so busy looking for addresses that we went 2 blocks on a one way street (the wrong way). We were on the verge of hysteria (you would have to understand our sense of humor when under stress) when this was brought to our attention. At one point I said to Arwen, pretending to interview her, "Soooooooo, would you like to share your emotions at this time? How do you feel now?" she responded with a southern drawl " I feel the scales have been lifted from my eyes!!" In all seriousness, I am very glad that the task is finished. Now she can relax and not be concerned if she meets up with the jws as she knows they wont be approaching her or visiting her. They had a jw couple visit the house last week, although she avoided them, it really shook her up,,,,,,, so I said " LETS GIT ER DONE! (disassociation letter). -- If it wasnt for the support on this board, I don't know how her freedom would be accomplished.- gladdy(meljon)
