Scanned PDF of Russell's 1st Book: The Object & Manner of Our Lord's Return
by cabasilas inthis exists as a text file in a couple of different editions, but as far as i know it's never been posted as a scanned image of the original printed edition.
it's from a copy of a photocopy, so the clarity is not perfect but it's plenty readable.
kudos also to a fellow jwder who helped me get the ocr to work better.

Whats the weirdest case that was handled in your congro??
by karter inwe had one were a guy screwed his dog.. a guy got his step daughter pregnant and ran off with her, his wife committed sue-aside , in our country you can't marry your step children if you are the course of the brake up however apparently its not against scriptural law so the congregation gave them a marriage.. we had 4 sisters pregnant in the congro (all married) this bro of questionable mental health confessed to the elders to being father of them all.. .

In keeping with being a-political and non-voting, the PO recruited selected individuals, who he personally rendezvoused with at city hall in order to get them to be registered to vote, which was a requirement in order to go thru the neighborhood collecting signatures for a petition on an upcoming election having to do with zoning changes that might affect the kingdom hall and property that he owned that was adjacent.

1 cor 14:34,35 " let the women keep silent in the congregations, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but let them be in subjection, even as the law says.
if, then, they want to learn something, let them question their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in a congregation.".

It sort of conflicts with 1Cor 11:5-10 doesn't it? ie, women shouldn't speak, but if they choose to pray or prophecy then they should be covered. So much for women conducting Bible Studies and borg traditions that make God's word invalid.

How do people continue to buy into the Watchtower???
by integ infolks,.
with all the information out there, available for all to see; exposing the lies,hypocrisy, and outright ridiculousness (is that a word?..if not it should be) of this whole witness religion, how in the world are people still buying into this?.
is it because i don't have jehovah's spirit anymore?

There's really two different kinds of people. Those born into the borg and indoctrinated from birth and don't know any better. And those who've seen what churches have to offer which is nothing and/or confusing and they don't have the time or resources to go to divinity school to find out the truth. The dubs offer a short-cut. Unfortunately there are land mines that they don't tell you about until you're all in. And then fear, guilt, control, etc, take over.

Affectionate Men vs Macho Men
by Thinking of Leaving ini was watching a 2004 (re-run) episode of average joe hawaii and larissa picked the handsome, muscular man over the loving, patient, understanding not so cute man.
i'm not sure if you're familiar with the show but in it this beautiful model/actress has to choose between an average joe and a good looking guy.
they started her off with 16 average looking men and eventually threw in 8 good looking ones to heat things up a bit.
