  Yes, there are so many things we used to take for granted, fresh tomatoes etc. My grandkids don't even like tomatoes and I don't blame them! Too bad. But mangos in Oregon or New England are really pushing it. No way we could grow them locally. (I don't know where you are in New England but here in Portland we are about 30 miles further north than Montreal!) I really think they have to ripen at home over a longer period of time. As you say, probably picked very green in Mexico or wherever in the far south.

  By the way, I was mistaken about the price here, My wife, who is the shopper, says they are only about .59 cents (not .89) each.

  Well, this is an unusual thread for a XJW site. They probably think they'll all have a mango tree in there garden in N. Dakota in the New World!

  Hubert, Sorry your first mango experience wasn't so great. Maybe I over-hyped them!? Try once more. Only this time bring it home and leave it setting out for at least 3 days.

  Yep, my wife slices it into a bowl and eats with a fork. We have purchased dried Mangos too. Chewy, almost like candy. But my fave way is to stand over the sink with the juice running down my chin while I do the Mango Tango. Wifey likes watermelon in season but I can take 'em or leave 'em, too hard to find a sweet one. They make me burp and pee a lot.

  with two thirds of my sentence complete, i am almost ready for parole.. there was some unbelievable stuff said today - i think there must be some sort of hallucinogenic gas coming through the ac, because no one batted an eyelid over what was said from the platform.. as usual, i will highlight the main talks.. .

  remember the first school year your parents passed the torch on to you and you had to talk to your teachers about opening exercises and holidays and such?

  did you just give them the school brochure?

  did you have a speech prepared?

  On my first day of school my mother and my aunt took my cousin and I to the principles office and explained all the flag and holiday stuff to him. This was only a few years after the end of WWII and it was not a popular position to be in. Our teacher misunderstood and would send us to the office every morning until the flag salute was done. A really screwed up way for two little boys to begin their education.

  A mango only has one seed, it is a flat oval shape. A mango should have just a little bit of 'give' when you squeeze it gently. They are usually a mottled green and redish color about the size of a large pear (not to be confused with a large "pair" like Anna Nicole Smiths). The flesh is an orange/yellow.

  If you eat one before it is ripe it will cause no harm, just doesn't taste as good. If you're not sure, leave it out on the counter for two or three days before eating it. To peel it I like to make a small cut and start working a large spoon around under the skin. Even here in Oregon they are only about 89 cents apiece.

  Just be careful, sometimes they taste so good they make your knees buckle.

  so how do i sleep...........................summer is here thats great ..........but with it comes the mosquitoes,, heat and nooooooooooo sleep
