Top Jimmy and his Rythm Pigs - They were the best! Saw them in Nairobi in '74. Nobody could get the sounds out of an accordion like Nappy. That plane crash robbed us of some great music!

The "New World" post Armageddon - childish fantasy
by Gregor inthe wts provides illustrations of well clothed and fed people standing around grinning at each other at some never ending picnic.
that's nice.
but with all the focus recently on the aftermath of hurricane katrina i got to thinking of the practical problems of a post-armageddon world.

That's right. After 1000 years they will be in a state of Adamic perfection and then Satan will be let out of jail to see if he can get somebody to F--- up. Satan did pretty well with the first two people, a 100% success rate. I think Jay Hoover needs to either get over Himself or re-think creating beings who have a free will. Free will as long as you do as your told!
And then there is the little matter of phasing out reproduction. Does that mean sex? or just fertility? Since humans, like all other living things, animal or vegetable, are primarily wired for reproduction this raises images of a race of beings with no sexual component, no male and female. The stupidity and foolishness of this belief just keeps on going.

Is it harder to get reinstated after being df'd for apostasy....
by JH in.
is it harder to get reinstated after being df'd for apostasy than any other sin?.
i would imagine that if a jw admitted posting here over 10,000 times, that it could be difficult to be re-instated....lmao.

In my case it was impossible. I made a stab at reinstatement about two years after by DF'ing because my Grandfather was fading fast and (I thought) I was prepared to do what ever it took to "con" the bastards into it. I went to one meeting before the elders. I had done such a good job of ripping the org. and its doctrines 2 years before that they were VERY wary. Some of them were actually smirking when I was saying my little repentance speech (I guess I'm not a very good actor). By the end of the meeting I realized that I would have to eat WT shit for at least a year before they would even consider a reinstatement. As it turned out, Grandpa didn't last a year but I was able to have a brief visit with him before he passed.

I know this is a subject that brings up problems that active J'dubs wish they could be worrying about.
The mental masturbation of the New World Fantasy is what really keeps them going. It is such a HUGE temptation to dump the cares and woes of life and death onto a pre-packaged product bearing the patent of the Watchtower Society of Brooklyn, NY, Inc. Sure, they demand your entire mind, body and 'soul' and some of your money, and maybe your first born child, but, wow, those things are so much easier to give up than trying to figure it out and deal with it with your own intellect.

The WTS provides illustrations of well clothed and fed people standing around grinning at each other at some never ending picnic. That's nice. But with all the focus recently on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina I got to thinking of the practical problems of a post-Armageddon world. I don't recall ever hearing exactly how the survivors are going to care for all their physical needs. Are the angels just going to take care of all their needs like magic? Are the basic laws of Jehovah's perfect creation going to be suspended? Like decomposition of dead flesh, the health dangers of natural fecal bacteria and the need of potable water and food? I am sure if a JW were to ask these reasonable questions he would be given an answer suitable for a two year old, "Jehovah will provide, not to worry"
6 billion dead bodies, no electricity, sanitation or communications. No fuel for those who live in a North Dakota winter.
Seems like a big knowledge gap here that has never been addressed by the FDS -

If you heard this headline on the news, would you be frightened?
by free2beme in"visitors from outer space reveal themselves, and make contact".
now, i realize this is something seen on those supermarket tabloids all the times.
what i am saying, is what if it was true and the networks had it on, cnn, foxnews, msnbc, etc.

Everything I know about space aliens is from unfortunate individuals over the years who have been abducted by the M-----F-----s. They seem to be extremely interested in the lower colons of humans. Anal probing is not a way to make new friends!

Help ... Any handy men/women out there
by looking_glass inmy microwave is not heating up food.
it activates and everything seems to work, but it does not heat anything up.
i have taken out the panel underneath to see if anything is leaking or wires hanging out or exposed and nothing.

Microwave ovens are considered a 'consumable' home appliance, like a toaster oven, electric can opener, hair dryer or blender. For the price you pay for them you usually get a reasonable amount of use out of them before they malfunction. At that point they are not worth repairing. Unless you purchased your microwave less than a couple of months ago you might as well junk it. The thing that makes food hot is the microwave tube(s). It has gone to await it's resurrection in the new world.

great tribulation
by daydream1900 inmy mother who is a jehovah's witness came over my house the other day for lunch she told me that it was announced that during the great tribulation that it would not be to late to go back to jehovah's organisation as once it was believed that it would be too late to go back after the fall of false religion.
dose anybody have any information about this?

Dose anybody have any information about this?
Yes. The latest is that the whole thing is a crock of baloney. Kind of like "When the mother ship comes down and the door opens will the people who have not yet purchased a ticket be able to buy one after boarding?" You have come to an odd place to get doctrinal explanations about JW minutia. With all due respect, why aren't you baptized, young lady?
Anyway, welcome.

Not sure why exactly, but this hit me hard when I heard it last night. As many have said, he seemed a very genuine guy and a hell of an entertainer. Tragic for his young family.
